Problem Details:
So this has been happening to me for over a year, intially I thought it eventually be fixed. However, I cant find any bug reports similar to this one so maybe my issue is unique? Basically what happens is osu!direct will sometimes get halfway through a download and then it will disappear, either saying that its finished downloading or nothing at all. It seems to happen a lot more with more lengthy beatmaps, if thats of any help.

I made contact with peppy a few weeks ago and he said "That's really weird... are you able to try from a different internet connection? Do you have any firewall/security software you can try disabling temporarily?" I've tried to change both of these things with no success. And I didn't want to contact peppy again in case he was too busy with something else.

Video or screenshot showing the problem:

Keep in mind, this happens every time I use osu!direct

osu! version: 20160403.6

Might seem like a stupid question, but I've seen the same thing happen when the connection between you and server drops.
Like for example, if you're using something like Steam, does it randomly log you out of chat then back in again?

I neither lose connection to osu! or have any other application open.

That's balls strange allright. If there was an issue downloading the beatmap it should pop up with an error message regarding that if nothing else.

Can you switch to the cutting edge release stream (which you can do from the options menu) and reproduce your issue, then go to the osu! installation folder, open the Logs folder, and upload the network.log file as well as the runtime.log file and post a link to those files (or the contents of those files) here please.

Uh, when I try switching to cutting edge it doesn't change. I'm on a macintosh, is that possibly why - as in is there a bug that makes it impossible to switch?

Here's a video I just recorded:

If you're using the stable release for OS X (from http://osx.ppy.sh) or any OS X release previously found at the downloads page on http://osu.ppy.sh then you won't be able to switch to any other release streams as it's intentionally locked to the fallback release stream for compatibility reasons.

It does sound like a typical connection issue though, but that should notify you that the download failed instead of just making the download dissapear. Not sure what exactly to think of this.

Are you certain you don't have this issue when downloading maps from the website? Can you see if the issue happens on a different on a different connection?
