I have been thinking a lot about this lately.
I thought that it would be cool if osu! could have an option in the settings where you can have a timer at the middle of the top of the screen while you are playing a map. It will count upwards until the song is over. I requested this because when I am playing long maps (or any map), I sometimes want to know how much time is left, or how far into the song I am.
It'd be great if you could put this into consideration.
