So this is the second time now where I've spotted a mistake on my ranked map which is so minor the point that fixing it would not affect score calculation of the map in any way. I won't point out what's specifically wrong with my maps since ignorance is bliss, but basically, missing hitsounds and storyboard stuff.
I feel it would be reasonable to allow a ranked map to be updated to fix very minor things so long as those minor edits would not affect the score calculation of the map in any way as to not disrupt ranked scores. This will limit post-ranking editting down to:
- Hitsounds
- Backgrounds
- Storyboards and videos
- Metadata(?)
The client is already capable of updating beatmaps within the game, so as long as edits are strictly minor, the maximum inconvinience is an extra button click. It would also allow qualified maps to change incorrect metadata without the hassle of it being disqualified.
Requests for edits would probably need to be reviewed on a case by case basis, but I don't expect people needing to request this very often.
We're only human and we all make mistakes.
expecting to be told that this is physically impossible, but someone's gotta ask
