What he means is when the player's lifebar fully drains, the score starts dropping until his lifebar increases again.
Which is still kind of silly. The only difference between this and NoFail is if your drained lifebar only lasts a while, this has more points while if you completely suck at playing, NoFail makes sure you actually get points instead of having the score drained to 0.
