Clear Spinners in CTB [added]

I've noticed in Catch the Beat in can be sometimes hard to tell when a spinner starts and ends. If you put a few red lines where it started and ended, it would be easier to tell. The reason I bring this up is sometimes, you'll find a beat right after a spinner that looks like it's part of the spinner so you don't think you have to catch it and the combo breaks.

maybe like something that tells you its the end of the spinner.
But you can tell when a spinner ends when the fruit on the plate like are gone (new combo i guess)

No, I think that would be tasteful. Something like a mild glow or a different border on the fruit itself would make more sense.

Still open to suggestions for the effects. Right now it's a white, slightly faster animating version of hyperdash.

This is already unrankable? And the same is true for hyperdash fruits and red/yellow/purple backdrops.

Maybe Just like hyperdash, make the screen darker during the spinner and then a glowing/ flashing/pulsingwhatever fruit to warn it?
Kinda similar to the previous white glow but with the adition of the darkened view :3

He means that an outline of some sort appear around a fruit that's not in a spinner so you won't break combo.

Well, the spinner of CTB appears to be impossible, which I think is wrong, but that's another point.

The light on the fruit is hard to see when you go too fast, it would be best to enclose the space spinner either darkened, lightened or placing limits it ends (and where to start is also helpful.)

You light up the fruit that is not in the spinner does not make much sense because you have to highlight the end because if they are near many fruits will not distinguish.

That's a good idea. Then we can use the logical name "BANANA TIME" for catch the beat instead of calling them spinners.

@RandomJibberish - I usually call them as a "Fruit Frenzy" .. Sorta came up with a name for it and it stuck for me.

It's not fruit-banana.png, it's fruit-bananas.png. And likewise for the overlay.

you can skin any ctb fruit you want
ctb skin names

  • fruit-apple.png
    fruit-apple-overlay.png
    fruit-bananas.png
    fruit-bananas-overlay.png
    fruit-drop.png
    fruit-grapes.png
    fruit-grapes-overlay.png
    fruit-orange.png
    fruit-orange-overlay.png
    fruit-pear.png
    fruit-pear-overlay.png
apple/grapes/orange/pear are the normal fruit. bananas is the spinner fruit and drops is the droplets during sliders.
so you could have fruit-apple and fruit-apple-overlay as a paino if you wanted. or maybe just a triangle
does that kinda help?

add bananas is a good idea, but I want to see bananas as a ordinary fruit not as a spinner-fruit only IMHO

You can skin a regular fruit into bananas just as easily as people that don't like the bananas can skin them away. You can find the images (fruit-bananas.png and its overlay) in the Skin tutorial thread (if they're not already in the template skin). Of course, if you want to keep all the regular fruit while doing that, you should probably support the feature request to allow for more fruit types in CtB.
