"Christmas Season" doesn't really start in the US until Black Friday.
It's not supposed to, at least. But department stores et al. keep pushing it further and further. I fully expect to see advertisements for Christmas stuff before Halloween next year.
We had Xmas stuff before halloween past year here. This year started like nov 1st.

I'm starting to see some Christmas decorations and music at some stores, but nothing to major. Lights usually start appearing on houses here in late November.

But there was only like an aisle of Halloween stuff with 3 aisles of Christmas stuff.

I can tell when christmas season starts when my radio channel plays nothing but Christmas music which means in about a week or two. And maybe I'll try mapping for the first time around thanksgiving break.
Last year I got my christmas song ranked on December. Can you at least wait... lol
