What would be a good pair of headphones for around $500 or lower I already have bose qc25 but I use them mostly at work.

I'm currently using a pair of AKG K550s. Their sound quality is absolutely amazing, I haven't gotten anything even close to this and I've gone through an Astro A40, Logitech G430 and an old AKG headset, the K511 I think it was.

Despite their look, they are extremely light, and very comfortable. I would rather buy another one of these than going back to any of the other headsets/headphones I've owned. They're especially nice for music which is why I got them. Both to suit my college needs and for Osu!.

You may have to look on Amazon or other retailers in the US.

What kind of environment are you going to be using these headphones?
There are quite a few options at that price range that are open-back (as in, they have a much wider soundstage, but they leak a lot, so they'd only be appropriate in a private setting).

Sennheiser makes good headphones. I have the Momentum because I'm cheap. They have some headphones in your price range.

$500! Geee...
I would recommend Sennheiser, definitely. By far the most reliable brand I've tried.
Just make sure they're closed headphones, open is really bad when you're looking for sound quality, but I'm sure you know that already.
Also, you should be able to buy from them with <$300

- If you're using these for music, what genre(s) do you most often listen to?
- Will you be using these mostly at home, or around other people/in public?
- Do you currently have an amp/DAC?
- What are you using for the source (onboard audio/dedicated sound card/cd/record/digital player?)

For a rather cheap price, apparently the Razer range is quite good. Either the Razer Kraken or Razer Adaro, depending on what they're being used for. Kraken for gaming and talking to friends over skype or teamspeak or Adaro for music.

Alright, So you want a sexy pair of headphones under 500$? Let's see, you have many reputable brands to choose from such as BOSE, Sennheiser, and Audio-Technica. Personally, if clarity and accuracy is what you are going for, i recommend looking at Audio-Technicas in your price range. I have the ATH-50X's made by them i could'nt be happier. Sennheiser would be my #2 pick however if you fancy their designs more. Happy hunting!
