I like to watch how the other people are playing very much, but there is one problem. It's often hard to find people to spectate.
Not hard because there are no people that are playing, but because most of people in Online Users tabs are often AFK, Idle or doing other stuff, like spectating or moding. From the people that are playing, which usually are minority of users I see, many are playing beatmaps I don't own (and which I can't download with one click, I would need to find them manually in browser).
I rarely use filtering by Nearby / Country, as I don't really pay attention to where are the players I am playing with from, so aside of Friends filtering I almost don't use it.
But there could be more useful options to filter the players, like:
# Players that are playing
# Players that are playing the beatmap that we own (or at least different colour for that, to distinct them from other playing players. I don't remember all of my few thousands beatmaps and there are often many versions of certain songs.)
# Idle players, so we can maybe play or chat with them
# Put other nice proposition here.
It can be discussable what filters could be really useful, but I think that ability to filter out non-playing players would be very useful. Even more, if you can filter by the beatmaps that you currently own, or at least mark these players with different colour or shade.
