Sooo general tips first as promised
I'll often point out several examples in your map. I won't point out all of them though because I think it's important you understand my points and juge by yourself if something is wrong. So IF you accept my suggestion please go through the whole map and search for other occurences.
Most of this stuff can be situational depending on if you have a clear idea of what you are doing or not.

General stuff :

Seeing how hard your map is I'd say OD+1 AT LEAST
I'm not very fond of AR that high in not-spammy maps like that
Your combo colors are risky. Imo the black one is too dark to be seen clearly and white should be avoided too
uncheck letterbox during breaks
audio bitrate is too high. Check AI mod
the map would benefit alot from custom hitsounds

Aesthetics :

So you might argue that this isn't that important and I'd probably agree with you. But looks in a beatmap is probably comparable to looks irl. You'll always get juged by how you look first. If your map is inconsistent and seems to have random placement it'll sometimes be juged as bad by people that havent even played it.

t/187043/start=15 read popner's post, it explains how to achieve consistency. Alot of your map uses alot of different curvatures in the same place. this makes up for very inconsistent visuals and kind of a "random slider and note placement" feel.
Here are a few examples : 02:17:330 (1,2) - 02:26:930 (10,1) - 02:32:030 (1,2) - 02:34:430 (1,2) - 02:39:230 (1,2) - 01:26:930 (1,2) - etc

When doing curve slider things like that it's also better to keep you curves kind of low. This is more subjective but 02:39:230 (1) - 02:50:030 (1) - and sliders like that are too curved which doesnt fit your general style of flat ish sliders

Consistency in angles used is also kind of important to keep a map good looking imo. Most of the time it's better to have your angles kept between 5-15° of the x and y axis.

Your shapes are also not very varied. You basically use 98% curves when there are alot of more viable safe shapes you could use. S shapes, Z shapes, L shapes, and straight lines are very safe to use and fit most maps yet you ignored them completely.

01:53:330 (5,1) - small overlaps like that are really meh visually, either make a good looking one that overlaps a bit more or avoit the overlap completely


Spacing and emphasis :


You spacing and note placement should always express the song imo. You often use very consistent spacing which kind of ignores beat and sound strenght.
00:12:980 (7,8,1) - here for example you have 3 objects spaced exactly the same. All 3 have different strenght though. 00:13:280 (1) - is a downbeat and has a very strong sound on it so it should be expressed by higher spacing or at least some sort of sharp angle/direction change. 00:37:730 (1,2,3,4) - 4 is a downbeat here and shoudl have more spacing etc etc

00:23:180 (5) - these kind of sliders are also problematic imo. If you listen to the song you can clearly hear the slider end has a snare sound while the beginning lands on a guitar hit. The end is clearly stronger than the head so when planning rythm you should make the tail clickable here. pointing out a bit more : 00:25:430 (6) - 00:27:530 (2) - (repeat slider end on a strogn sound) 00:28:280 (5) - 00:29:780 (2) - 02:25:730 (4) - etc
You can google strong/weak beat on google if you want to know the music theory backing this up

Playability :

This is more the kind of stuff you'll see in the mods you're used to see

01:41:030 (7,8,9,10,11,12) - you have a 1/4 stream pattern with a very slose 1/2 note following it which is not good. 12 should be spaced more to make the 1/2 more clear and for playability 00:37:730 (1,2,3,4) - 01:36:380 (5,6,7,8) - 01:45:830 (5,6,7,8,9,10) - etc

03:34:280 (1,2) - sudden extended sliders like that are confusing, you can't really tell if the slider is 1/2 or 3/4 here. I'd say if you really wanna use extended sliders like that stack the note unther the slider's tail 03:35:480 (1,2) -.

01:29:031 (1,2,3) - straight line jumps are weird because they don't really rely on your aim to hit them but more on your capacity to keep the right speed. this makes you lose emphasis on the strong beat just after since there is no spacing / direction change. It alsko makes the player tense up during this series of notes which you don't really want because 2 here is weak. 04:18:380 (2,3,1) - 04:22:880 (7,8,9,10) -

01:29:031 (1) - you ncing is random, you should only change NCs when there is a clear change in the music. Most of the time in rock songs like that change is on downbeats so NCing on every downbeat fits usually. 01:26:930 (1) - 01:25:430 (1) - 01:17:330 (1) - 00:26:330 (1) -

01:34:730 (2,3,4,5,6) - flower shape should be kept here. Flow isn't that important there is a 1/1 gap anyways

02:52:280 (3,4,5) - slider from 3 to 4 to avoid confusion between 1/1 and 1/2

04:06:680 (1,2) - pls make that look good 04:17:030 (3,1) -

04:50:030 (6,7) - overmap

  1. after I testplayed this, I notice that some part is too repetitive. you used too much 1/2. for example, 00:40:430 and so on. try to use different rhythm like 1/1.
  2. 00:15:680 (2,1) - spacing between these two is better farther because (1) has cymbal and strong like you did on 00:14:930 (1,2,1). apply to other similar case.
  3. 00:27:530 (1) - remove NC.
  4. 00:43:880 (6,1,2,3,4,5) - just did like 00:42:080 (2,3,4,1,2,3,4,5) is better. it's more fit with music.
  5. 01:09:830 (1,2) - this is kinda wrong because it's very strong but you use only slider to emphasized it. better change to 4 circles.

A couple things to fix if you're trying for rank:
  1. Audio bitrate must be between 128-192kbps. 320 kbps currently isn't rankable
  2. try to find/make BG standard size (1366 x 768)

  1. I would recommend using NCs at 00:01:430 (2) - 00:02:780 (3) - instead at the beginning, since the beat here doesn't play like 4/4, so NC on downbeats are a little strange. Actually anywhere that has these extended 3 beat patterns, you could think about changing NC patterns to reflect that
  2. 00:13:280 (1,3) - avoid overlap
  3. 00:22:280 (1) - maybe triplet?
  4. 00:22:430 - rhythm is here is kinda funky in groups of three, but the strong beats land on 00:22:430 - 00:23:330 - 00:23:780 - 00:24:230 - etc... so all of these should be clickable objects to give the right emphasis and follow the music better
  5. 00:27:230 (1) - same thing in this section. now there are both drums and piano, so you can try to follow both, but places such as 00:29:030 - 00:29:930 - etc... where the piano and drums align should have a clickable object
  6. 00:36:230 (3) - I think the drums here are actually 1/3 not 1/4 beat
  7. 00:41:480 (6,1) - prefer bigger spacing here

  33. 04:59:330 (5) - move to [~279,~240] so 04:58:730 (2,3,5) - have equal spacing

  36. 05:31:730 (6,1) - ^ putting stuff on downbeats doesn't matter here since the rhythm is in groups of 3 now
  37. 05:42:830 - from here on out, I wouldn't mind seeing larger spacing/more 1/4s/more streams in this section since it's the most intense part of the song. Stuff like 05:41:255 (4,5,6,7,8,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,1,2,3,4) - should be used more frequently or used later in the song so that intensity keeps on building till the end.

This is pretty fucking hard to mod. The map has flow issues and lack of fun elements in it.

00:22:425 (1,2,3,4,5,1,2,3,4) - everything is going fine and then the flow suddenly changes to 00:24:508 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7) - this for literally no reason. It feels extremely awkward to play. Even if most people don't notice it, this is pretty much a perfect example of why most of the map feels more tedious than fun (for me).
00:26:008 (1,2) - unneccessary jump out of nowhere. It would be okay if it the flow was good, the short distance between (2) and (3) feels weird when it's an obtuse angle. The jump is executed much better here 00:26:908 (6,7) - though.
Another main reason why the map feels dull is because the most spacing takes place on one dimension. This goes for the entire sections even. 00:26:008 (1,2,3,4,5) - this entire pattern feels so compressed. Space em out in vertical dimension (y-axis). Another perfect example would be 00:29:008 (4) - there is no reason to just not put it a bit more up. 00:29:308 (5,6,1,2) - this feels also compressed. Whatever is not compressed is low spacing for some reason. 00:38:458 (3,4,5) - this is also an example where x axis feels compressed. Just put it a few grid pieces to the left and then much more movement will be involved in the map. More movement = more fun.
00:48:508 (2,3,4,5) - any reason you broke circular flow here?
You don't use spacing correctly to express the way the song goes. For example, 00:50:308 (1,2,3,4,5) - this feels dull. I changed it to something like - slider ctrl+g'd for flow with the pattern, pattern spaced out and not compressed to express the emo song.
00:53:776 (5) - once again, compressed af
01:07:408 (2,3,4) - no reason to break circular flow again. I did something like this and it works better.
01:22:408 (1,2,3) - the chorus feels bad because of such patterns. The jumps are fun and cool, but the lack of originality with the flow of sliders makes it stagnant and dull. Also, playing the same uninteresting pattern four times in a 15 second section is a bit cancerous. Change the pattern and make more of them. Make them unique.
01:52:408 (1,2,3) - spacing is used incorrectly to emphasise the pause and the flow on 2-3-4 makes it awkward
01:53:458 (6,1) - massive jump out of nowhere
01:55:408 (3) - another example of how compressed in y axis the map feels
02:03:058 (8,1) - make the angle sharper to make it express the edgyness (pun unintended) of the singer.
02:12:808 (1,2,3,4) - plays pretty ass. Changed it to this and it seems miles better - emphasises the pause with spacing to 02:13:708 (5) - and flows well into 02:14:008 (1) -
Terrible flow between 02:15:208 (1,2,3) - and 02:15:808 (4,5,6) -
02:17:008 (4,5) - spacing is uninteresting and meh
02:18:658 (6) - the placement is extremely bad for this. Place it somewhere like x:4 y:272, but goddamn this forced overlap has bad spacing, bad readability and bad flow.
02:23:908 (4) - ctrl+g
02:24:508 (7,1) - this slider dynamic is a lot more interesting than. 02:24:808 (1,2,3) - place more interesting slider patterns, just like I told you in the last chorus.
02:25:408 (3,4) - this pattern makes you wait. I don't like waiting. More aim = more action = more fun.
02:28:108 (5) - ctrl+g and space it out and make the entire combo piece more spaced out horizontally to fit with the spacing thematic of the chorus
02:28:708 (4) - ctrl+g
02:29:008 (5,6) - ctrl+g

03:40:280 - honestly have no idea what to do to make this section any way fun. The entire section of the song is pretty boring because the vocals and the instrumental is boring. Try to get as much circular flow in, not something as fragmented as this - 03:50:330 (3,4,5,6) - something as this which already feels bad because there is movement on x-axis, then it halts and only goes to y axis, then it's again movement in x-axis. Such jumps are anti-flow (watch this )

04:25:280 (4,5) - bad flow. ctrl+g might be fun, haven't tested though.
04:31:730 (5) - bad pause emphasis, this looks like a jump pattern without pauses and constant 1/2 beat. Make it stand out.
04:35:180 (6) - Syncopation (Sinkopė)
04:36:080 (4,5,1,2,3,4,1) - Syncopation (Sinkopė) - pretty much the strong beat ends on the red tick while you are mapping like syncopation wasn't in the song. You end the sliders on strong beats, that is bad.
04:49:430 (4) - ctrl+g
04:57:680 (3,4,5) - that's pretty cruel
05:00:830 (1) - ctrl+g
05:02:030 (1,2,3) - boring and spacing lowered so much for little reason.
05:18:380 (5,6,1) - circular flow switched to lineair flow here, not entirely good.
05:43:730 - make all the tripples spaced and 05:47:570 (1,2,3,4) - change these into some sort of a very dynamic and spaced stream.

Remember, many problems I've listed I didn't repeat. There are many more problems that are in the map, I just didn't point them out every time because I've mentioned them enough. Good luck ;)
