Sometimes after my warmups, or if I just feel like chilling, I'll join a multiplayer room that says something like "4.5-5.5* Host Rotation" etc. and then when I actually get in the host starts picking songs 6* 7* and so on. This really bothers me. So here's what I'm thinking.

1. Star Difficulty Slider on Multi: When you create a room you set the difficulty of the room to w/e you want it to be, so something like 4.5-5.5* difficulties.
2. When in song select it would keep the song difficulties WITHIN the star ratings you set when making the room.
3. An option for the Original Host to change the star difficulties.
4. A filter option for these.

It just drives me insane when I join one of these rooms (because I don't care if the map is "insane" or "hard" or whatever. Means nothing to me.) and the host(s) start picking songs WAAAAAAYYY over what the room name says, and under what the name says. Sometimes I like to have a challenge, but when I do, I prefer to play it in solo.

These are just my thoughts, and I feel that it would be super awesome if it were added.

Edit: If DoubleTime were selected and the song went over the limit, it should give a message like "The difficulty of this Song Exceeds the room limit"
Edit 2: Add in a vote system to make it so if you want to play a song above/below the set limit that people can vote on it, and then lock the Difficulty upon room creation.

Will probably not work
The current host can instantly change the boundaries, and pick a map which exceeds those boundaries

Could always make it so there is a time limit between changing difficulties. Not like a lobby wait time, but a song playtime wait limit. This would make it so that the host couldn't just sit there for the time limit and just wait to change the difficulty, they would actually have to pick songs to fulfill the wait. Yes, I know people would pick like 1 super long song to fulfill the wait, but it's better than just having a regular timer.

It would probably be better to have the option of a set range that is locked at the creation of the lobby, or no range at all. Having the ability to change the difficulty range at all makes the feature redundant. By having it locked you don't get lobbies that are wiped out when a high rank player selects a high star map in a low star lobby and vice versa.
