My grip no longer exists

I can't find my grip anymore and it's messing up my playing and ultimately pissing me off. I drag and my original grip kept slipping so I referred to a different grip, but now I am terrible at both. Should I get a fresh start with a new grip? Should I hover? I'm mostly concerned about losing my muscle memory built up from 1.5 years of playing.
