Question about catching/combo lines

Hi I'm new CtB player and I have one question.

The combo/catch lines appearing from ryuuta (is there some term for them?), they become really distracting while going FC for the whole song since they are getting longer and longer until I start miss because of them. Is there any way to make them less distracting? Making them shorter (only like to the combo lenght numbers), more transparent (so I can see better through them), giving them specific color (so they dont overlay with fruits), or the best - make them same lenght no matter how long combo is?
I was trying to find solution but only one i found was turning them off through confing and it was turning something off in standart too. Since I play standart most, it would be annoying to make two config and swap them every time I got mood for the other mode. And i don't rly want to turn them off completely, since they help tracking movement until they are too long. So is there some solution (config, skin.ini, specific skin or something) to this? Its getting annoying since I usually miss at the end because of them.
Hope there is better solution than getting used to it.

And while I'm posting, can you recommend me some good skin? Skins I found had so big cirles that I got lost in them. I play mainly salad diff, trying platters or some aprox 2-3 stars converts (AR<8). I found skin with smaller than maximum size of the circles, its more readable for me, but it has its flaws too (droplets too small).

And if you could drop me some tips for begginers it would be awsome too.

Thanks for answers.

Edit: Well, it was a bit more than one question :D

If I understand, your problem is that ? ->

When the ryuuta have many fruits on his platter ? And you can't see the other fruits if they're fall in your platter or not ?
If yes, so :
- Play more, and you can have the reaction of "where the fruit will fall" and you will not fail.
- Play with Hidden, with it, no fruit on the platter, but it's a mod so the song will be a little bit harder.
- Find a skin with "transparent" fruits, like Dusk's skin.
But for transparent droplets, you can change them on the skin file you know, and change them for bigger droplets.

If my skin (in the picture) seems good for you, ask me, I will send you the skin. :p

I think he's talking about the light that comes out when you catch a fruit, you could use black combo color with 100% dim to make it harder to notice but it's still there.

Ah yes, if it's what PakaChan said, you can change it into black line, it's a little bit less bother. You can't remove this, so playing with Hidden mod is the best way if this line prevents you from playing.
Or change it into black, here :

This is an exemple with Dusk's skin, and black line :

Hi guys, long time no reply, havent got a lot time for this :D Thanks for your advices, I just got used to HD and the lines are kinda helpful when playing HD and AR9 feel better to read for me with HD. Im just kinda interested, how the "too many fruit on my plate" problem can happen. It occured to me only once and it was only spinner unraked map so I would like to know how this can happen. But still TY for replies and sorry for not posting back for so long ;) But I still dont get how you play AR9+ maps. And few more questions:

How much are 120/144Hz monitors better for CtB and if you play with or without Vsync on 60 (or higher) Hz monitor. And what resolution/aspect ratio you use?

What kind of keyboard is good for CtB. I got my Zalman KM500 (the cheapest china red switch mechanical keyboard) but it seem not so good for CtB (unlike in other mods where it feel clearly superior against membrane keyboard). I tried it on my ntb keyboard and it felt little bit better but still not rly good.

What finger you use for pressing speed button? I use default shift but my pinkie (used to press shift with it from FPS games) got numb after hour of playing. And what fingers and buttons you use for L/R?

Thanks for advices now, since I probably will forget to reply again :D

Too many fruits happens when a mapper hasn't made a new combo in the editor for a while (in Standard, circle/slider numbers are like 10+). This is why in CTB maps it's a rule to not make a combo longer than ~10 or so. Also, a single long (reverse) slider/a slider that repeats a lot can pile up the fruits.

I believe 120/144 Hz monitors are better in every aspect than lower Hz monitors, can't say since I don't own one though. Also, I usually never use VSync (especially when playing competitive games, such as Osu!, LoL, CS:GO etc.), and FPS is unlimited and in DirectX mode.

I used to play with casual keyboard, but since I got a Razer Blackwidow Stealth 2014 (a mechanical keyboard), I really can't see myself going back to a normal one, even in CtB. It's just personal preference. I heard ExGon plays with a membrane though, so it shouldn't affect skill cap that much.

Buttons are really different for each player. Some people like playing with keyboard only, some with keyboard and mouse for dash. I personally use G for left and M for right (index and ring fingers) and Mouse1 for dash.
