[General]
- Add the following to tags:
- funk indie single
- Who is "mrsuicidesheep" in the tags?
- Are you going to include more diffs in your map, such as an Easy or Insane?
- I recommend moving the preview point to either 00:32:485 or 01:12:653 . Preview points should highlight the most memorable part of the song.
- I highly recommend removing kiai times. This song is too mellow to have them. If you reaaally have to keep them, at least remove the kiai time on 00:32:234 .
- First of all, the original BG's size was perfectly fine. Using different ratios are fine as long as the BG doesn't go over 1366 x 768 like the ranking criteria said, though it is preferable to have the BG in a common ratio. However, it disappoints me that many maps have a completely unrelated BG for their song. So I decided to edit the song's artist's album(?) cover. It's simple, effective, and it's for the song. - Umm, I'll think about this. I really like my BG tho.
Here it is:
After going through the diffs, I found out that the combos and hitsounds are a mess. They are completely random with no consistency whatsoever. This map is unrankable until the hitsounds and combos are fixed.
Because there are so many problems to cover, I decided to do two things: first I gave suggestions on combos on Easy, but not on Hard; it was a completely different beast. Second, I gave some suggestions on hitsounds, but this time only on the first 15 seconds on Easy. Hard was... something else.
Near the end of this mod, I gave some tips and tricks to help you with your combos and hitsounds.
[Normal]
- 00:00:351 (1) - Remove the clap on the head.
- 00:02:611 (3) - Adjust this circle to x:160 y:248 so the curve from 00:01:607 (2) acts as a blanket.
- 00:02:611 (3) - Why does it have a finish hitsound while 00:04:619 (1) - is a whistle? Then at 00:08:636 (2) - it's a finish hitsound again. Very inconsistent. The finish hitsound doesn't fit, so replace it with a whistle.
- 00:03:113 (4) - This slider should have the same shape as 00:01:607 (2) .
- 00:03:113 (4) - Add a clap on the head. Remove the clap on the repeat.
- 00:05:121 (2) - Add a clap on the tail.
- 00:06:628 (3) - Adjust this circle to x:152 y:188 so it follows the curve from 00:05:121 (2) .
- 00:06:628 (3) - Remove the finish hitsound.
- 00:07:130 (4) - Add a clap on the head. Remove the clap on the tail.
- 00:08:134 (1) - Remove new combo
- 00:08:636 (2) - Add new combo
- 00:08:636 (2) - Remove the finish hitsound and turn it to a whistle instead.
- 00:09:138 (3) - Spacing
- 00:09:138 (3) - Add a clap on the head and tail. Remove the clap on the repeat.
- 00:10:644 (4) - Instead of that slider placement, try this look instead:

- 00:33:741 (1) - Remove the repeater. Add a circle on 00:34:745 . It's not recommended to have a slider's end on the first 1/4 divisor like the other modder's have said.
- 00:39:766 (3) - New combo
- 00:40:770 (1) - Remove combo
- 00:42:778 (1) - New combo
- 00:43:280 (1) - Remove combo
- 00:43:280 (1) - That is one unappealing slider. Keep it simple and turn it like the one on 00:05:121 (2) .

- 00:48:803 (2,3) - This is an example of poor flow. 00:49:808 (3) - should never go to the same direction, especially when a repeating slider is involved. While harder diffs have exceptions, easier diffs are more difficult to justify. I recommend moving it around x:312 y:220.

- 00:54:828 (1) - Remove combo
- 00:56:837 (2) - New combo

- 00:48:929 - The slider velocity is too slow. Because of it, the sliders look misleading like one on 00:57:088 (6) . Increase it to 0.75x.
- 00:49:054 (6,1) - There's a sudden jump here...
- 00:50:059 (2,3) - ...and here. This is a difficulty spike. There are no jumps like that anywhere in the diff. It breaks flow. Please reduce the distance of the jumps.
- 00:56:586 - Add a circle here?
- 01:07:130 (1,2) - Spacing
- 01:10:519 - Slider velocity is too slow. Increase it to 0.75x.
- 01:10:644 (3) - This slider is unappealing, clean it up.
- 01:18:678 - A circle here?
- 01:18:929 (1) - The circle is too close to 01:19:180 (2) . It's also covering up the repeater symbol.
- 01:21:188 (2,3,4) - Straighten these sliders.

- (UNRANKABLE) 01:37:506 (2) - This slider is more than halfway off the grid. All objects must be in the grid. Move it closer.

This map needs a lot of work. The hitsounds and combos are the biggest problems of all. I can't deal with them all so here are a few tips and tricks to deal with them:While combos and hitsounds are the biggest problems to deal with, there are other, smaller problems that can't be forgotten. The overall hit object layout is okay at best, but lacks polish. Poor use of blankets, sliders with awkward placement, weird slider shapes, uncomfortable flow, and so on. I only covered some, but a modder can only cover so much.
- Combos are there to help the player's perception and stanza of a song. Most songs follow the 4/4 metronome. Basically, on the hit objects timeline on the top of the map editor, every long tick mark should be a new combo. Of course there are exceptions, but in this case, it should be simple and straightforward. Consistency is important.
Hitsounds should help players give feedback when playing a map. Hitsounds also enhances the experience in playing a map. When it fails to do that, the map suffers and becomes an unpolished mess. Hitsounds are subjective, meaning there are a lot of ways to interpret a map, but hitsounds still have to follow the song. When you map hitsounds, reduce the music volume and increase the effect volume so you hear the hitsounds more predominately. Keep the hitsounds consistent. When there's a clap in the song, add a clap there. When you added a whistle there and the next note doesn't, the consistency is broken. Again, consistency is important.
This mod isn't perfect, but I think I highlighted the most major problems of the map. Hopefully other modders can guide you through it.
