I know it's based off preference, but every time I do jumps, my hand starts to hurt. But I make the jumps just fine. This being maps like https://osu.ppy.sh/b/399015&m=0

This is a picture of how I press my keys. I also use z for dash, because my left shift key broke.

Pressing keys as hard as you can doesn't necessarily mean you're doing it always right. This used to happen a lot to me, specially to my right ring finger to the point where I had stop for a day or two from playing in fear of RSI because the pain was too much. With practice, you can do 100 jumps in a row without forcing yourself too much. It can be hard at first because unconsciously we tie jumps which tend to be hard, with giving our all into getting them done.

If you feel uncomfortable with arrow keys, why not bind them to something else? I highly recommend that since you seem to press them at such an unnatural angle.
For example, I am using G to move left, M to move right and Mouse1 to dash.
That's how I hold my hand

Yes I use ring and index fingers.

Since you use right hand to move the catcher, why not try N and K or something similar/else?
