Finger posture and length

I've been testing out ring/index finger with caps lock/a for my K1/K2 and surprisingly I can play almost as well as I did when I used a/s for K1/K2 with my index/middle finger and on some maps I can play even better.

First a few questions for you guys:

1) Do you use index/middle fingers for pressing? If not which two fingers do you use?

2) Is one finger longer than the other? If so, then by how much?

3) which K1/K2 do you use? are they right next to each other or are they a bit farther apart?

My keyboard has always felt a little cramped, and on top of that my middle finger is longer than my index finger, so you can imagine how strange and uncomfortable it felt for me to tap on a small little space with my big clumsy fingers that are of different lengths literally getting tangled up in each other.

SPOILER
First off, my middle finger is quite a bit longer than my index, the gap is a little bit longer than the width of one of main fingers. On top of this I used to use a/s but the keys have always felt way too close, and a bit cramped for my fingers. Because of this they'd often get tangled together, and it was really hard to alternate because of the differing finger lengths and limited space that I played in.

So recently I switched from index/middle to index/ring finger and tried playing and surprisingly, I could stream almost as well as I did with my index/middle finger, and I could single tap far better on top of this, there was no discomfort compared to before. The only difference is that my ring finger isn't as trained as my middle so it gets tired a bit faster, and I can't quite stream/tap as well as I could with my main finger combo, but i can get very close to the same performance with no discomfort/tangled, cramped fingers, etc. but that's to be expected. However I totally did not expect to be able to stream with this finger, especially since it took me ages to learn how to do it with my main two fingers.

So what do you guys think of all this? Am I retarded for doing this? Or maybe I'm on to something? The scariest part about all this is wondering what would have happened if I had practiced all 6 months of my osu career this way with my ring/index on caps lock/a. I don't think I would have had nearly as much trouble learning to tap patterns if I had played this way all along... Anyone else have experiences like this? Anyone else dealing with a similar situation?

1) Yes, middle finger singletapping
2) of course middlefinger is longer (as for pretty much everybody in the world). exactly 1 cm longer
3) x+c so right next to each other

not sure if i can help but i use the most default way of playing using keyboard
index/middle, z x as k1 k2, and my middle finger is approx 1cm longer than my index finger
only starts to feel the pain after prolonged fatigue(playing for over 5 hours maybe) but all i had playing is trying to fc 4star~4.5star map while trying to clear 5star~5.75star maps
so i don't think it would help much :|

Your finger length is bad, cut them down to 5.73cm.

ring+index; less than 1mm when stretched out; c/b but from time to time i move a bit to the right cause i find my mouse running against the right side of my kb(i just switched to n/,
KanoSet
1. yes i do
2. middle finger is a bit taller than my index
3. b,n
this is kinda interesting.. i may give it a try

How the hell do you guys manage to hit the keys when your fingers are different lengths. Do you hunch one finger more than the other or something. I always had a hard time with it.

I could barely even pass this before, and now I can comfortably FC it with 98%+ acc. Easiest 131 pp ever. Alternating is much easier now.

I played this a few times 3-4 days ago and I would get 5-7 misses with ~95-96%

1. Index finger
2. yes middle finger longer
3. z/x on laptop and h/j on my normal keyboard

Actually if you're gay then they are more likely to be the same length. Fact stolen from Game Theory

never thought about it.. i just press keys
sometimes they get tangled but i'm like "damn it, focus" to my self
and i actually don't play this anymore.. i passed it once and i'm afraid to play it again

Looking at it one is more forward than the other.

I singletap with index, stream with index/middle.

One finger is longer than the other. Maybe 1 cm.

Curve your fingers. Easier to tap that way, and aligns your fingers as well.

Singletap Index

Middle longer

Down and Right arrow key - Singletap the right arrow.

I don't know if I'm a genius or a dumbass. Probably the latter for not trying this out sooner.

This style actually really works. I easily broke a lot of records on maps and even earned myself some easy peppy points. I recommend anyone who finds their fingers cramped on the keyboard with very mismatched finger lengths to try this out.

To add, I also had this problem where my bigger finger would slip off the keys a lot because I had to sort of arch it more than the other finger to reduce its length, so my middle finger kept slipping off the small keys. No longer a problem when using caps lock.

1. yes, index finger single tap
2. middle finger 1 cm longer than index
3. multiply/substract
almost fc rog unlimitation with that position
Yuudachi-kun
Oh so we're sharing finger postures now huh

jaaakb
1. yes
2. middle 1.5 cm longer
3. 4&5

i often tilt keyboard so middle finger key is further away

i forgot how to long stream when i lifted hand in the air (can't even comfortable have it touch anything with these binds) but am regaining ability slowly
