Welcome to the Army of Two Osu! tournament. This will be an Osu! Standard Game mode Tournament.

This will be my fourth tournament held, and as the name suggests it will be played out in pairs. You will require a partner to compete. All regions will be allowed to compete, however English will be the language primarily used.

Now then, This will be a single Elimination tournament between 32 "Armies"; it will be played out throughout the month of July. In this tournament, I'll be introducing Multi-mod brackets.

To explain, each match between teams will be a Best of 7. You will not play two maps from the same group; there will be groups as follows;

No-Mod
Hidden
Hard Rock
Double Time
Hidden - Hard Rock
Hidden - Double Time
*Tie Breaker*

Now you will only play one map from each group each match. A new set will be released for each round, each set will consist of three choices in each group, either team will veto one map leaving the third to be played, the Tiebreaker will be a single map and for the sake of neutrality will always be no mod. there will be one round each weekend throughout the month of July, with the finals being the first weekend of August. Each Map pool will be released exactly one week before the match.

Due to the number of different ranks signing up I've employed two separate brackets to try to keep it fair for all players. as a general rule I've used the 10k rank line as the cutoff point however I will place you in whichever bracket I feel you should be in based on my own discretion.

BRACKET

So, consider this first round a qualifier, teams that lose wont be eliminated.

Since some of the matches by seeding are horrifically one-sided I've slightly adjusted to format

Teams that lost their first match will be moved to a separate Lower-Bracket tournament which will feature easier maps and an entirely separate ladder.

this is not a losers bracket, you will never be moved back up, it's simply a second chance tournament for teams that still wanted to play despite being matched up against teams that were titans in comparison.

I answered those to him personally but I'll post them here as well,

1) I didn't have a rank range in mind, I didn't want to limit entrants but the balance will favor around the 10k mark.

2) timezone is PDT which i believe is GST - 7 but I might be one hour off.

3) time is negotiable but it will be one round each weekend throughout July.

4) early rounds will be around 4.5* while later rounds will scale up higher.

Hmm, we're approaching a full lineup of teams however after going through the teams, there are a few teams that are substantially under ranked compared to the average player. Since I'm basing the first round map difficulty one the average rank this really disrupts the way map picking is being done. Initially I had left ranks open because I expected a larger number of lower ranked players however brackets are getting alot of even sub 1k players signing up.

So I've been considering revising the line-up. However I'm hesitant to do so because it would mean adding a new rule half-way that screws over a few players that should be competing fairly. Any opinions on this? Anyone have any good ideas to deal with this?

IF it suits you I'd also appreciate feedback on what a good starting line is for map difficulty. The finals and semi finals will still be very challenging regardless of where we start but I'd like to know what people consider to be a fair starting point to go from.

I'd like to hear from as many of you as possible. Thanks for the feedback.

Personally I'd feel that songs that are around 4 to 4.5 stars would make a good starting point. Because 4 stars are more or less the benchmark for anyone who's planning to join a tournament against others who are of much higher rank and skill level. So it kinda serves as a sort of qualifier for those interested in taking part in the tournament. Then as the tournament proceeds and teams eliminated, I'd suggest you scan through the list of participants remaining and gauge the suitable difficulty level. Of course the difficulty would increase as the tournament proceeds. Anyway it's not like this is the OWC or anything, we're just here for fun and to gain experience, lose or win doesn't really matter as long as everyone is happy.

That's just my two cents. Give or take it's up to you

4-4.5 sounds like a good place to start. Not too sure about having 3 hidden categories though, it seems a bit much!

I'm treating it as though Hidden is a toggle and HR Dt are actually mods.

so you have no mod hard rock and double time.

Then no mod hard rock and double time with hidden toggled on.

OK, I believe everyone has confirmed. So the first round map pool will be released on June the 13th. Now since this happened much faster, if everyone is good for it we can start earlier than expected. of course only if everyone is able to do so.
