It's ridiculous how mappers these days abuse 167bpm 40x DS jumps and completely overmapped 1/64 snapped streams just to inflate the difficulty so pro players will play your map on stream so you can be recognized as the next "famoose" mapper.

Wow, absolutely disgusting. I hope this never makes it past qualified.

Please reconsider your entire career as a mapper.

01:56:851 (1,2,1,2,1,2,3,4) - Completely unexpected and inconsistent to previous patterns of this sort (00:43:558 (1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2) - ). Make it consistent to the previous pattern. Undo the streamjump, for god's sake. It's really unexpected and catches players off-guard, you haven't introduced them anywhere before in the map to prepare the player for trickiness (neither anywhere after, but that's another thing).

Mapset is great, but there are 2 things that I can't figure out in Skystar's diff and it bothers me -

  1. What's up with the sudden sliderslide changes? 00:16:073 (3) - 00:16:791 (1) - 00:19:666 (1) - 00:20:384 (3) - etc etc. Perhaps some custom hitsound was intended here? Because the Soft set indicates that is not..
  2. Slider velocity changes in the beginning, 00:16:073 (3) - 0.8x to 0.5x to 0.75x to 1.0x and egh.. It's not consistent at all when it continues, it's just seems completely random to me, no changes in vocals / music, for example: 00:16:791 (1,2,3,4,1) - This feels really forced to play, in various aspects..
So.. why? thanks.

That's something special yeah. As you probably can tell, the rhythm of the part is following both vocals and drums. It's shifting between them back and forth constantly. So the SV changes are something to spice up the vibe - which imo work pretty well. Since it barely effects playability, I feel that the enjoyment value of the pattern outweighs the loss in quality from sacrificing consistency.

[Skystar's Chocolate]
  1. 03:11:851 (2) - This rhythm is currently conflicting with the sound 03:12:121 (1,1,1,1,1,1,1) - is following. Therefore it makes gameplay uncomfortable imo. I recommend that try to make rhythm like Insane diff or extend 03:11:582 (1) - this slider till 03:11:851 - and add 1/4 slider in 03:11:941 - .

I find the sound at 03:11:851 - more significant than the one at 03:11:941. I also think that having two 1/2 sliders at that spot plays way more intuitive than having one 3/4 + one 1/4 because you don't have to pause for a 1/1 break and suddenly jump into 1/4 slider patterns. Considering using two 1/2 sliders here follows a more obvious layer of the music and can have a better transition between two parts, I don't really feel that it's necessary to change.

If make more intuitive, should be use 1/2 rhythm like Insane diff. at least current rhythm is not intuitive for the music imo. player will focus 03:11:941 - this clear sound. because you followed the same as sound before 03:10:504 (1,1,1,1) - . so It feels really weird that suddenly changed to 1/4 rhythm from 1/2.

I find the transition really great and intuitive though. The sound at 03:11:851 - is obviously clearer than 03:11:941 - in my eyes. Either way, both rhythms work fine and make sense on their own, I don't really see how an alternative should be forced to implement.

EDIT: and the whole pattern (03:10:504 (1,1,1,1,2,1,1,1,1,1,1,1) - ) here is a speed change that goes gradually from the highest to the lowest and turns back to the highest again. Which is why the variation is needed to act as a bridge between the falls and the rises, and also why I feel the rhythm is the best for the pattern.
