[resolved] My rank is barely moving?

Sometimes, when I play a beatmap and beat my old score, I gain pp but my rank goes up only by like 20. Other times, the opposite happens. My rank goes up by 100+ but I get no pp. Hopefully, this made sense...

pp/rank gains aren't instant. wait for ~1 hour after gaining PP to check your rank. If your rank still doesn't update you either didn't gain enough PP to warrant a rank change or there is a bug, but as you can't see ranks above 10000 easily, it's unlikely to prove that this is a bug.

Don't worry about your rank until you're in the top 10k.

Actually, I have a different issue. I'm getting my PP just fine, after I beat an old score or beat a beatmap I've never played before but my rank is affected after the NEXT map I play. Is this a bug?

No, it's a feature.

As I said there's a delay between the PP update and the rank update.

Really? But I'm pretty sure in the past, both were updated at the same time...

They should generally update at the same time, but it's not that rare for one to update and the other to stay the same.
In which case submitting another score (on any map) will cause it all to update properly.
Or wait upto 24h so that your pp/rank is updated to the proper value.

Anyhow, the reason you experienced is simply because not everything is in sync.
Things have to be calculated and it's a multi-step process.

(Not entirely relevant, but I'll just drop this in here, just in case.)
