Everyone wants a piece of the cake. Here's a screenshot from Unsigned, the fifty-eight GH/RB clone so far, and possibly the worst-looking of them all.

Just... Ouch. Almost makes you want to throw them a bone. <_<

Frets on Fire's Alarian mode or whatever apparently has a full Rock Band skin, and at least supports drums. I haven't looked into it too much.

Unsigned does look like crap.

I swear I'm earning Shutdown Points when I'm not playing GH/RB. I took a long break from GHIII once, returned, could suddenly play on Hard. I took a break from RB, played it yesterday, had the skills to play on Expert. Just like that.

Guess it's time for a bump.
Finally burned GHWT. Would've done it two days ago if I knew how to fix SS values. <.<
Illegal stuff aside, the game is awesome so far. Playing it on Expert, and while it's slightly harder than Rock Band, it's not anywhere near the difficulty of the crappy, overcharted GH3.

They also added two new elements to the guitar gameplay. One is strumming new notes during sustains, and the other is those tap notes. I play with the GH2 controller, where you tap the notes without strumming instead of using a touchpad. It's a bit like the solos in RB, but without solo buttons. Overall, the gameplay feels new and fresh, and Neversoft really did a good job this time around.

If there's one thing they messed up, though, it's the graphics. The animations are stiff and boring, pretty much everything with physics falls too slowly, the crowd is in 2D, and worst of all, the notes are in 2D. Again. Damn you, lazy bastards. <.<

It's possible that this is just my confirmation bias, since I was kind of assuming that this would be worse than Rock Band, but... I think this is not as good as Rock Band. I just rented it today, and have been playing through it mostly on drums, and just not having a lot of fun.

got the GH4 yesterday, i only like the guitar, so been playing the guitar storyline. i have not made it all the way through career,but i sure hope lou comes back, it's apparent that Guitar duels are back, so yeah :D. oh and getting rights to have dream theater on their game = AWESOME

I've barely touched the game, really. The only guitar battle I've played so far is the one vs. Zakk Wylde.

I had to step down to Hard. D:

^ just did that battle last night :3 i love the game so far. the only bitch is, if your laser is damaged or not clean, it's an SOB of run this game. dual layering problems :p lucky for me i work as a tech by day :P~

(P.S were you as dissapointed as I with linkin parks song being so....spaced and bland?)

Yeah, I looked through the GH setlist and honestly, I'm quite disappointed. Now, I haven't heard the setlist and have never heard of half of the bands on there, but the list feels like GH is trying harder than ever to appeal to the mainstream genre. I think I like RB2's list better this time around.

Fortunately gems like Death Magnetic are DLC

It's on my MP3 player, I gave Images and Words to my mother, I know the song well, and I imagine it kicks ass.

I also played Panic Attack on RB2, also kicks ass. My brother didn't have Constant Motion though ;________;

Fine, let's see you create a decent song with 7 notes (6 for bass). Not only that, I'm trying to replicate a more complicated song, so I won't be able to make it sound like the original no matter what I do. And making a decent cover is beyond me, at least when I'm limited like this.

It's probably at the end. GH3 put most of the good music at the end of the game, GH4'll probably do that too. All the songs I like in Rock Band 2 are in the final two tiers, as well.

Dream Theater is not easy music to play.

Dream Theater is not easy music to play.
i have no doubts on what you just said.

kinda funny that they started off by making battle music for DBZ Movies (history of trunks has 2-3 of their songs in it)

Unlike TTFAF, it's not because it's hard... it's just because it's INCREDIBLY FREAKIN' LONG.

Eight minutes is not long for a Dream Theater song. It's actually shorter than average. 12 or so is long.

And they said they were going to do 2112 (or whatever they call it) by Rush as the final song. Sure, 20+ minutes would kick most fags in the balls, but I like my music.

Wah I was hoping not to find any GH topic while searching this forum. I really wanted to create a new thread :(

Anyways, just got GHWT for ps3 (both presents from my girlfriend, loaded mother fucker)

I'm alright. I can play nearly every song expert guitar, haven't experimented much with singing but if I know the song I can do it well. After a few weeks of playing I should be able to sing all of them decently on at least hard. Drums, I'm pretty bad with. I can play maybe 80% of rockband songs on drums, but these GHWT drums are getting some time getting used to though. Got a blister my first day of playing with them, so going to stay clear of them until I at least beat single story guitar with expert~

Anyways, if any of you have GHWT for ps3 I'd be more than happy to play with any of you online. Post if you have it and maybe we can set up something~

I say you should stick with her and try to get as much money as you can (i.e. the PS3 & GHWT)

anyways, I can play a majority of the songs on Expert & I want to play online to, sadly, I have it for the wii, not PS3 :(
that makes me poor, TELL UR GIRL TO SEND ME THE PS3 ONE NOW!!!! >:)

He didn't say he hated her, he just said she was a loaded mother fucker. I think it's sweet.

I'll be getting GHWT for PS3 probably in a month or so. It'll have a handful of good songs on it so sure I'll play online, but I'm mostly getting GHWT for the instruments to use on RB2.
