21:15 *Mikii is listening to [http://osu.ppy.sh/b/681467 Knife Party - Boss Mode]
21:15 Mikii: ill play the map
21:16 Exahilosys: kk
21:16 Mikii: you want to spectatE?
21:17 Exahilosys: sure
21:21 Exahilosys: Well done!
21:21 Mikii: you have some unrankable issues :p
21:21 Mikii: can you play this map?
21:21 Exahilosys: yup
21:21 Exahilosys: "unrankable issues" ?
21:21 Mikii: sec
21:22 Mikii: the bpm doesnt change to 88
21:22 Exahilosys: mustn't ?
21:23 Mikii: see it changes to 88bpm here
21:23 Mikii: 00:30:014 (1)-
21:23 Mikii: but the 88bpm is never needed, its always 176bpm
21:23 Exahilosys: Is changing bpm against the ranking rules?
21:24 Mikii: no but its unecessary for this map and probably won't be ranked because of it
21:24 Mikii: and it just causes trouble
21:24 Exahilosys: hm, how should I do it then?
21:24 Mikii: let me test this
21:25 Exahilosys: I really want these small sliders to be there like this
21:25 Mikii: too much of an sv change
21:26 Mikii: see you can always use the green points and set it to 0.5x sv
21:26 Exahilosys: I have already set them to 0.5 with the green points I think
21:26 Mikii: and the base sv might be too high
21:26 Mikii: so that would mean you cant have these slow sliders
21:26 Exahilosys: "sv" ?
21:27 Mikii: slider velocity
21:27 Exahilosys: that is what I want to avoid
21:27 Exahilosys: ..
21:27 Exahilosys: but it seems like it can't be helped
21:27 Mikii: you can also increase sv using the green points
21:27 Mikii: to at least 2x
21:28 Exahilosys: hm, yeah
21:28 Mikii: so 2.10 is unecessarily large
21:28 Mikii: 1.6-1.8 would be ideal
21:28 Mikii: next
21:29 Mikii: hold ctrl+shift+a to bring up aimod
21:29 Mikii: also are we doing this for kudosu?
21:29 Exahilosys: I guess yeah >.<
21:29 Mikii: you might want to use /savelog
21:30 Exahilosys: I did it, our previous conversation is on your maps page
21:30 Mikii: ahh thats great
21:31 Mikii: alright next
21:31 Exahilosys: let me snap them first >.<
21:31 Mikii: ctrl+shift+a aimod
21:31 Mikii: dont bother theres TOO MANY
21:32 Exahilosys: kk
21:32 Exahilosys: I will do them later
21:32 Mikii: basically
21:32 Mikii: aimod will help you clean up general mistakes
21:32 Exahilosys: I just learned that exists >.<
21:32 Exahilosys: thank you for letting me know of this
21:32 Mikii: np
21:32 Mikii: 00:41:335 (1)- around here you need new combos
21:33 Mikii: talking about timing points
21:33 Exahilosys: boop, yeah did not see them
21:34 Mikii: yeah the first timing point is fine, theres no neeed to change it at all
21:35 Exahilosys: I saw that
21:35 Mikii: im just checking the whole map too see any bpm or beat changes
21:36 Mikii: if you clean up these general mistakes for now, pm me again and i can check again
21:36 Exahilosys: kk
21:36 Mikii: try not to go for ranked for now :3, and just ask Beatmap nominators for help
21:37 Exahilosys: will do
21:37 Mikii: it'll save you a lot of time instead of trying to map a full rankset, make like one 1:30 map and show it to a bn
21:37 Mikii: the lower difficulties look fine
21:37 Mikii: I don't think those need SV changes though
21:38 Exahilosys: ok
21:38 Mikii: also try to work on not overlapping too much
21:39 Mikii: i can read this map fine but for lower ranked players its gonna be hard
21:39 Mikii: i think that covers general mistakes :p
21:40 Exahilosys: good to know that, thanks
21:40 Mikii: the timing is fine and you know how to make a catchy beatmap :)
21:40 Mikii: learning patterns will be good, and look at some of your favourite dubstep maps for ideas
17:28 Exahilosys: Hey dude, remember me? We did M4M yesterday..
17:33 Mikii: heya
17:33 Mikii: hows the map going?
17:34 Exahilosys: I fixed all the snapping stuff but I can not get rid of some errors that I get from the AiMod. Do you mind taking a look?
17:34 Mikii: sure :)
17:36 Mikii: im just going to play this again
17:36 Exahilosys: alright
17:36 Mikii: last time there were some unsnapped objects which made it unrankable
17:36 Exahilosys: I fixed those
17:37 Mikii: i would change the approach rate to ar9
17:37 Mikii: from 9.5
17:37 Mikii: its only an insane map, not an extra
17:38 Exahilosys: Done
17:38 Exahilosys: by the way, what is a preview point?
17:39 Mikii: click the timing tab, option right at the bottom
17:39 Mikii: where the song starts from when you select it from song select
17:40 Mikii: 01:05:465 (1)- these notes start on a blue tick when they should be all on white ticks
17:40 Mikii: select it all and shift it one tick to the right
17:41 Exahilosys: Can't I leave it like this?
17:41 Exahilosys: because they end at a blue aswell
17:41 Mikii: sounds out of rhythm
17:41 Mikii: if you play the song
17:41 Exahilosys: done
17:42 Exahilosys: I still can't find the option for the preview point though
17:42 Mikii: 01:16:456 (2)- slider should start here
17:42 Mikii: go on the timing tab at the top, not the 4 options
17:42 Mikii: where it has design timing web help
17:43 Exahilosys: ok, got it
17:43 Exahilosys: and what is a preview pont?
17:43 Mikii: where the song starts from
17:43 Mikii: when you select the song on the song select menu
17:43 Exahilosys: oh
17:44 Mikii: just try it out
17:44 Exahilosys: did it
17:46 Mikii: alright ill continue
17:46 Mikii: you did the slider snap?
17:46 Mikii: at 01:16:459 (2)-
17:46 Exahilosys: yup
17:46 Mikii: make sure most of your beats are not on the blue tick
17:47 Exahilosys: do I have to redo unihirated timing points to match with hard and normal?
17:47 Mikii: you can just copy and paste it from the txt files in your song folder
17:47 Mikii: okay i should explain
17:47 Mikii: do you know where your song folder is for your song
17:48 Exahilosys: yeah
17:48 Mikii: open your difficulty with notepad
17:48 Exahilosys: k
17:48 Exahilosys: the insane one?
17:48 Mikii: yeah
17:48 Mikii: see where it says [TimingPoints]
17:49 Mikii: copy and paste all that into your other difficulties except for your guest difficulty
17:49 Mikii: and make sure you have a backup as to not mess it up
17:49 Mikii: this will copy and paste all your timing points onto your other map
17:50 Mikii: done?
17:51 Exahilosys: Done
17:51 Exahilosys: XD
17:51 Mikii: make sure all your notes are 1/4 beats away from eachother
17:51 Mikii: 01:36:573 (4)- like here
17:51 Mikii: 01:39:300 (6)-
17:52 Exahilosys: Is it THAT nessecary?
17:52 Exahilosys: I really like them like that
17:52 Mikii: its unrankable i think
17:53 Exahilosys: boop, really?
17:53 Mikii: yeah, if they're not snapped onto a tick, i think thats classified as unrankable
17:53 Exahilosys: it is a tick
17:53 Mikii: and nowhere in the music says you should do something like this
17:53 Exahilosys: its a 1/16
17:53 Mikii: there is definitely no need
17:53 Mikii: to snap anything onto 1/16 :p
17:54 Mikii: i mean its snapped
17:54 Mikii: but its not to the music
17:54 Mikii: 01:23:533 (7)- should be on a white tick to the right
17:55 Mikii: yeah like i said most things should be snapped onto red and white ticks
17:55 Mikii: and then onto blue if the music dictates that there should be a note there
17:55 Mikii: 01:39:896 (7)- shift one tick to the right
17:55 Exahilosys: hm, the ranking criteria indicate that there can not be 2 notes on the same tick, so I will be keeping the sliders
17:56 Exahilosys: done
17:56 Mikii: well alright then
17:56 Exahilosys: Also the AiMod says there is a problem with kiai time...
17:56 Mikii: thats the one thing you can ignore
17:56 Mikii: just a bug
17:57 Exahilosys: is it the same on your side?
17:57 Mikii: wait its not a bug
17:57 Exahilosys: ?
17:58 Mikii: i think it means that the kiai times between should be more than 15 seconds
17:58 Mikii: i thought it was a bug but its not
17:59 Exahilosys: then what am I supposed to do?
17:59 Mikii: you dont need to do anything
18:00 Mikii: its not a problem
18:00 Exahilosys: oh, ok
18:00 Mikii: 00:32:923 (1)- oh you still set it to 176bpm
18:00 Mikii: i think it should be okay unless a mapping moderator says to keep it 88bpm
18:01 Exahilosys: imma change it
18:01 Mikii: the other bonfire song you shown me was 88 bpm
18:01 Mikii: 87*
18:01 Exahilosys: I know
18:02 Exahilosys: yeah
18:02 Mikii: it would make sense to keep this as 88 bpm
18:02 Mikii: you'll have to do work changing the sliders xD
18:02 Exahilosys: the oficial bpm for this song is 176
18:02 Mikii: oh is it?
18:02 Exahilosys: right from the creators moth
18:02 Exahilosys: mouth*
18:02 Mikii: ohhh
18:02 Exahilosys: but 88 works good aswell (half of 176)
18:02 Mikii: then just keep it 176 bpm, since you have evidence from the creator that it is 176bpm
18:04 Exahilosys: well I have already changed everything >.<
18:04 Exahilosys: its cool though
18:04 Mikii: D:
18:04 Mikii: there are also some rhythmical issues
18:05 Mikii: 02:45:265 (7)- starting your sliders on red ticks here would be worse than using white ticks
18:05 Mikii: on this song
18:06 Mikii: ill start talking about things you can improve to make the map play better than than technical issues
18:06 Mikii: its best if you try to take some patterns from bonfire and use them for your map
18:07 Mikii: the flow here is very basic and doesn't feel like it would bring a challenge
18:07 Exahilosys: I already have
18:07 Exahilosys: just one though
18:07 Mikii: out of the whole 3 minute map :p
18:07 Mikii: i know its hard
18:07 Exahilosys: XD
18:07 Exahilosys: I really do not want to use patterns from another bm creator
18:08 Mikii: there are only so patterns you can make that are satisfying and appealing to the player
18:08 Mikii: i have a better understanding just because i play alot of these maps
18:08 Mikii: 5-6 star maps
18:09 Mikii: + few months of mapping experience
18:09 Exahilosys: hm, I will see what I can do.
18:09 Exahilosys: As for the kiai time problem
18:09 Exahilosys: what should I do?
18:09 Mikii: the best way i can tell you to map with consistency
18:09 Mikii: just forget about the kiai time
18:09 Mikii: i have that issue on my maps
18:09 Mikii: and everyone else
18:09 Exahilosys: oh, ok
18:10 Mikii: is too not overlap your circles too much
18:10 Mikii: okay ill give you an example
18:10 Mikii: 00:34:868 (1)-
18:10 Mikii: blanket this slider onto the 4 hitcircle
18:10 Mikii: http://puu.sh/hoc88/b68a3a37cf.jpg
18:10 Mikii: bam 100% better
18:11 Exahilosys: done
18:11 Mikii: dubstep maps can encorporate a lot more than just curve sliders
18:11 Exahilosys: I have pointy ones too >.<
18:12 Mikii: :p
18:12 Mikii: not just pointy ones too
18:12 Mikii: you can also use more straight sliders
18:13 Exahilosys: Well I really do not wan to go with anything too fancy here
18:13 Exahilosys: 00:51:232 :3
18:13 Mikii: im just giving suggestions :p it would help the map feel better
18:13 Exahilosys: 00:51:232 -
18:14 Mikii: if you study other maps and look at how they encorporate their sliders to blanket and fit in with each note
18:14 Mikii: 00:29:077 (8)- like here its quite messy
18:14 Mikii: http://puu.sh/hoclO/5438fbe3ea.jpg another simple blanket
18:15 Mikii: and you have to be able to do this CONSISTENTLY in order to make a good beatmap
18:15 Mikii: every note and every placement has to be modded and looked at before it can be ranked
18:16 Exahilosys: hm, alright
18:16 Exahilosys: btw, what is "bubbled"?
18:17 Mikii: when the beatmap moderators consider you map rank worthy
18:17 Mikii: your*
18:17 Exahilosys: and what does this stage do?
18:17 Mikii: stage?
18:17 Mikii: im guessing you mean the modding process?
18:18 Mikii: where people check out and fix any major issues
18:18 Mikii: then they will check whether your map is fun to play
18:18 Exahilosys: , I know that >.<
18:18 Exahilosys: I mean... How does bubbled help my map become ranked?
18:18 Exahilosys: like... when my map gets bubbled... do I have to do something?
18:19 Mikii: it becomes bubbled, twice, and then the higher ups called the QAT quality assistance team looks at the bubbled maps
18:19 Mikii: and qualify the map, once past the qualification process, your map is ranked forever
18:19 Mikii: there are these processes or else any map can pass through
18:20 Exahilosys: Got it
18:20 Exahilosys: thanks for the help! :3
18:20 Mikii: i think this is good place to end it :)
18:20 Mikii: hope i helped

MOD TIME!GeneralPut the guest difficulty maker's name in the Hard diff's name and in the tags.
Make sure audio preview points and uninherited timing points are consistent across all difficulties.
Raise stack leniency to 0.3 for difficulties with a stack leniency below that threshold.Normal00:11:690 to 00:53:281 - Rework this entire section. Every single note here is unrankable and way to close together! Keep the hitobjects at least 10 milliseconds apart.
01:05:550 (1) - Too long; keep spinners at max 4 seconds.
01:27:372 - map this part.
02:32:822 (1) - Too long.
03:34:696 (3) - Remove this note.

03:40:151 (3) - ^
WHOLE THING - Not a single object is snapped!
WHOLE THING - Make sure you hitobjects are distance snapped!
Just a recommendation - Maybe remap the normal difficulty.HardTitle - Put the guestmapper's name in the title and tags.
03:40:151 (3) - needs to be snapped.
01:35:208 (4) - ^
03:43:389 (3) - ^
Good job here!Insane02:16:889 (2,3) - Switch these two.
Good job here aswell
Good luck!
For starters there are barely any patterns, because it was meant to be a normal diff. You really need to give examples of issues you find, otherwise your mod is relatively useless.LinearFaze wrote:

- CS3 is a little low for a hard... AR8 feels way too fast... I'd suggest CS4 and AR7. I mapped this as a normal, hence issues like this.
- Consider using SV multipliers instead of BPM multipliers (green not red timing ticks).[/color]
- Consistent spacing is again an issue here... although on a Hard it's a lot more permissible. In this case, it mainly has to do with the spacing between 1/1 and 1/2 being really ambiguous, and sometimes it even switches in the middle of a combo! Examples?
- Try to avoid sliders that overlap their start and end circles if at all possible (mainly affects longer sliders with low BPM/SV).
Again, the diff follows the rhythm nicely, but the spacing issues make it impossibe to make detailed comments on the pattersn.

Exahilosys you can go ahead and take out this diff now since it was meant to be normal initially and it's not a good map anyway. Since you have Syrax's hard it's no big deal. Also I would suggest making Syrax's AR8 because it's honestly closer to an insane diff than hard lol.
