I feel as if it would have already been suggested, but even so, user teams sound pretty cool.
This would likely entail things such as cumulative stats for people in the team i.e. team X has Y total PP, and Z mean accuracy etc. which could also incorporate leaderboards in a similar format to those used for solo rankings. There could be a UI for it where the 'Online players' panel is; in the same way that this can be filtered to 'friends' it could be filtered to team members.
Whether or not it would be possible to have such a system with invites and so on is unbeknownst to me, however, so I am having to make assumptions about some things.
