I second this. Backdrops can be a pain, especially since structural backdrops have to utilize perfect lines to make it look at least halfway polished. Character art will be taking up a lot of time as is.JarJarJacob wrote:

So yeah. Getting to renting a domain so I can set this sort of thing up. In the meanwhile, Here's a summary of what's been thought of, current/people who want to be members, and everything else.
Art Style: We can get this sorted out once the overall story is written. I think that filtering photos for use as BG's would be a pretty time efficent method. As for the theme and character sprites, well, the story needs to be thought through first.
Story:
Since quite a bit of this whole VN thing depends on this being finished, I guess the focus is on me to get this drafted up. If, perchance, anyone wanted to help me actually write the story, by all means, post here or contact me by some method.

Okay well since Jarjar's doing the opening theme, we need to solidify who the characters are going to be and have their rough character sketches, especially those that are appearing in the opening animation. Once Jarjar's done with the opening theme, we'll layout the flow of the music so we know the timing to display the character sprites and stuff I guess.
Are we doing this theme in typical visual novel style with like the slow panning backgrounds and the character sprites sliding into the screen, slowing down when in view, character's name appears, then both fade out, etc. then flashing the lolbackground setting images/scenes before the screen goes white to show the VN's title? :B

Look Azure_Kyte, I was bored so I've used GML to create some lame crap that will execute GML at runtime from files, and has more capabilities than that scripting language of yours.
Well you can learn about GML somewhere in google. Using it this way is more than enough to make a VN.
There's also OpenAL wrapper of mine inside and GML source code with function definitions for it. So you can add sound w/o any problem.
