Wow, I really wasn't going to reply back here but now that literally a full page of retardation has been posted in response to me I guess I have to say something to defend myself.
1. I couldn't care less about your opinions of Call of Duty. You're not cool, witty or edgy by humping the Call of Duty hate train. I'm aware of the flaws of Call of Duty, but I still love it because it's easy fun, extremely fast paced and very fluid compared to any other shooter I've played (and I've played many). If you have a problem with that, you can suck my toes.
2. Secondly, this game being 2D does not make it irrelevant to my skills in 3D games. They both require technical competence with a mouse, though in slightly different ways. One emphasizes tracking, the other timing. If you've ever played a flash aim trainer on the internet, it is the exact same format that osu! is presented in. In fact, I started playing this game in order to train my aiming for FPS games, only to find I liked it more. I've gone back and played the same shooters I used to and my skills have improved immensely despite having not played them in months, simply from playing this game.
3. I have been playing this game consistently for one month (I had no PC for three months right after I started). I also play for fun, not for rank (something that most people on this forum forget about). I spend most of my time playing songs outside of my skill level. I gained 2,000 rank in the last two hours just by trying. For all the people who think they can talk shit to me because they've been playing many multiples of the amount of time I have invested, how good were you one month in?
4. Having better hardware makes it easier to get better. This is obvious.
5. All of my hardware recommendations were based on general advice backed by a lot of thought and theory. I would bet money you don't even understand why I gave half the recommendations I did. I'd be happy to explain why if you could stop looking for an excuse to act like special snowflakes for a moment.

You've also been playing for four years and are still objectively worse than me. I outrank you by 25,000 and I beat you in all the top plays we have in common. You have no business questioning my advice.bigfeh wrote:
This is me, pure mouse player, playing at 2790 CPI without my forearm on the desk. Sue me.
This is absolutely terrible advice because it is obvious to anyone with a pulse. "Get better by playing more" is right up there in advice quality with "if you click more accurately, you get more points". Way to play it safe.buny wrote:
are you saying this is shit advice? That op should seek a secret technique that allows him to automatically play better without practice?buny wrote:
also you get better by practicing. Even if you were told how to grip your mouse you would still have to practice to get better. Practice is inevitable
