Slider's Speed - Map Star Rating

Hello!

I don't know if the current star rating system considers slider's speed (or song's bpm) as a factor for calculating map's star rating. I usually see maps which its star rating does not correspond to its real difficulty (at least for me), and I've seen other people with the same feeling.

Not that I'm basing my argument on three songs, but these are just examples:

Reiwai Terrorism - Distortion Diff 4.86 stars

Talent Shreder - 0108 Style Diff 4.93 stars

Wonderful World - Insane Diff 4.84 stars

Then you see a song which, at least for me, is way easier than these above:

Diamond - Insane Diff 4.95 stars

I know I'm a newbie here and maybe I'm saying stupid things, if its the case my apologies, I just think slider's speed (songs bpm either) should have more impact on stars rating calculation formula.

Thanks!

I don't think this is the right place to post about it, since ranking criteria governs what maps can be ranked while your concern is about a map's star rating.

Anyways, fundamentally star rating is based on how much and how precisely you have to move the cursor and click. Jumps and spaced streams, which use circles, require the player to move and click much faster than any slider of the equivalent rhythm. Since sliders are considered so much easier to play (also slider leniency), they are rated lower by the star rating.

I'm sorry for posting in wrong places, and thanks for the quickly reply.

I understand your point, you're correct. However, in my opinion, sliders can be harder than Jumps considering its speed. Please, if I'm not asking too much, just explain to me: how could Diamond has more stars than these other I mentioned? (i think you know these maps better than me)

It's true that Diamond has some jumpy parts, but imo there is no way its jumpy parts for being harder than Reiwai Terrorism's sliders. Maybe if you're a top ranked player you can't distinguish their difference because both are very easy for you and you didn't played them when you were a newbie (like me).

I think sliders rating should be exponencial, I mean, in "normal speeds" its rating is low comparing to spaced streams and jumps, but as you increase its speed, it gains more rating over jumps at the same BPM/Speed.

I'm sorry if I'm saying stupid things, it's just my opinion (maybe an incorrect one).

theres no such a thing as an incorrect opinon, but yeah slider style maps also dont give much pp either even if they're alot harder to fc since they don't scale with the od (you hit sliders early/late and still get 300s) not sure if this is why the star rating is lower though

edit: oops 2 months late

Nothing really going on here.
