Hey :D
Before I start explaining my suggestion, I want you to know this isn't a final suggestion yet, I'll probably change it a bit so feel free to give any tips !
The score meter is really good feature but I think it has a couple of problems
In addition to that, I'd like to suggest a feature to the replay system to improve them both overall.
The main problem with the score meter is you can't look at the score meter and play the beatmap at the same time.
While that's understandable I think there should be a few things added and changed to make the score meter more reliable.

It's somewhat difficult to read the score meter when you get many 100's or 50's at short amount of time,
I find it especially true when I play in high AR and got a mix of too early hits and too late hits and I don't know which notes I've hit early and
which notes late. therefore I don't know how to adjust my timing. This is true for me even during replays.
Even though it's not always take case, sometimes I just click too early or too late and I can see that all of or at least most of my hits are on side but sometimes it doesn't work like that.

A solution for this would be to rework the score meter, I thought maybe it could look something like in the editor, something like this:

This is just from the editor.

This meter would be alternative meter to use, the same thing when you get to chose between, color score meter to hit and error, this suggestion is to add another option to these.

Now, this meter would be mainly used during replays, like it should be, it's sized will change depending on the number of notes during the song.
Each note get a white line on the meter, additionally there would be a time below the meter showing the time of each note during the song (for example, you will have to click on the note on 1:20:03 to get a perfect click) this can be also useful to see the time difference between each note.
When you hit a note, a blue/green/yellow line will place itself on the meter depending on the situation if you hit too early it will place before the white line, if you hit it too late it will place itself after, you get the point.
And of course there would be a white line ( longer than the most of the other lines) to indicate where are you right now during the song. (again exactly like in the editor)

But what about the maps with a lot of stacks and streams? well like I mentioned, the meter will change it's size during the song, by that I mean It will expend or contract showing less or more notes in larger or smaller space (it all depends on the number of notes during the song and how close they are to each other, the idea is to allow you to read the score meter even during streams) but the actual size of itself will NEVER change. (Think of it as you change the snap Divisor in the editor)

It'd be nice, but not completely necessary, to add the ability to expend or contract the score meter by a key press and have a good overview of the entire song on the score meter.

This is nice but it doesn't solve us all of the problems.
So I'd like to suggest a few more things related to that.
* Add an option to hide or display the score meter by pressing a key while you play a beatmap, by default it will be disabled.
* The score meter will now display during breaks, for some reason it doesn't display the score meter in the song break, where it's actually the most useful since you won't get distracted from the beatmap while looking at it. it will show the most recent notes before the break was started.

The main idea behind this suggestion is to move the score meter to the replay system or during break, but I don't want to force players to do this, so I try to give the player this feature as an option instead of forcing him to use it. (like I said above)

Okay, now for the replay system.

Replays are great but I think with a little improvement the player can really learn a lot from watching their own replays.
The ability to go jump to different parts of the replay and watch them again and again as you would like along with the score meter I think would be beneficial.
If you click on the score meter you can move the song backwards or forwards by holding down the mouse button and dragging the white line the display at which point you are in the song.
you would be able to focus on certain parts of the song and try to learn and read it and hopefully understand what you did wrong .

I hope you understand my idea and the reason I suggest it, It's been bothering me for some time, the lack of proper score meter, it's a really good idea and we shouldn't waste it.

If you have questions or suggestions, feel free.

You can press Shift+Tab to remove it while playing
The score meter does not move during breaks why would you want to see that...
You can also use a skin to make it look like that...

Nope
AFAIK, it doesn't go away after pressing shift tab
Yeah, I agree (showing in breaks), but not with turning off, as you can already set it on/off in options (this is probably why it still appears with shift tab)

First, it's not about how it looks it about how it function.
Shift +Tab doesn't hide the score meter.
During break you can actually relax and take a look at the score meter and see if you are too early or too late.

There are many features which you can enable or disable in the menu and they also have keys to enable or disable them while you play.
I don't see why the score meter shouldn't get a button to disable or enable it.

I'm fine with it changing via Shift Tab, but I see no need in changing it via a new binding
Also, don't double post
If you need to say something else, just use the edit button :3

That's why i suggest this, to make it more noticeable and more helpful.

Regarding the score meter I feel it's fine as it is, but a possible upgrade that you're describing sounds fine as well. What really sounds like a good idea though is the ability to go to certain parts of replays to se what's wrong.
