Can anyone help me out with tips for how to keep a song diff under 1.5 stars?

If you'd like to help out a beginner mapper by modding what I have so far of this map I'd be super grateful!

im no mapper but afaik from the little easy maps ive played its almost impossible to make a map that actually represents the song unless its like 40 bpm.

mega huge circles, 2-3 OD, extremely low slider velocity. All you can really use are 1/2 notes and slow sliders for easy maps. All you can do for maps that easy is a basic very slow metronome style map. Keep spacing between notes consistent and very low and dont overlap notes.

Pretty much the same as normals but with lower CS, SV and OD.

in terms of making a good easy difficulty, it's mainly knowing which beats are emphasized and mapping those beats out. Less musical minds might need a little more training to understand and hear, but generally if it plays weird or something feels off, you are probably not doing something right.

i don't do full mods, but if you have questions about mapping, or you want me to look at a map, I would mind taking a peek and giving general advice.

I feel like I got the Easy down right, but could you look at the easy I recently finished for this map? It'd help a ton

Let me share my thoughts
For an Easy diff, I suggest:

Avoid overlap, especially 1/1 notes
Dont spam 1/1 circles like more than 2 circles in a row, especially at high bpm
Map with simple 1/1 notes as well the 2/1 , and add repeat slider (just repeat once) if possible, and make them constant
Set the DS that the 1/1 notes wont ever overlap
Always keep DS consistent at all times
Use slow SV of course
Circle size no higher than cs 3
HP ,AR , and OD are usually 3 or lower
Dont spam 1/2 while it can be covered with 1/1, 2/1, or other patterns
Usually, there are no 1/4 notes in Easy diff
Make some slider art/pretty looking slider for visual appeal!
Use blanket if possible and if you feel like it
Dont stack. Never.
Dont change SV multiplier

I will edit this post if something more comes to mind

Usually, there are no 1/4 notes in Easy diff Never use 1/4 in easy. Never.
Adding couple more tips
  1. Choose the most simplest rhythm
  2. Don't be afraid to skip some snare drums
  3. Use 2/1s, long sliders, and 3/2 reverse sliders if it fits.

Thanks to both of you! If you'd be so kind, could you mod the current Easy difficulty of this map? :D
I'll be following your advice either way, but I'd like to know if I'm doing good or not so far!

Everything just stated by the previous two people are guidelines. They are not true for every single case.

You CAN change distance snapping if it makes sense.
You CAN stack notes if it calls for it.
You CAN change the SV multiplier if it makes sense.
You CAN use CS higher than 3

Depending on the BPM of the map, 2/1, 1/1, 1/2, 1/4 can have entirely different meanings. For instance, for a 220BPM map on easy, instead of avoiding 1/1 beat overlaps, you might want to consider letting the 1/1 overlap but make sure the 2/1 beats do not overlap. Furthermore, 1/4 CAN be used in easy difficulties if the BPM is slow enough, or if you use a repeat slider that makes sense.

NONE of this is against the ranking criteria, but generally when you use things out of the meta when you aren't an experience mapper yet, you generally will do it in a way that isn't friendly to the user and/or plays badly, and mods will tell you to change it
