Additional comments: This map is supposed to be hard. Please play through the map (even if it means playing with HT/EZ/Relax/Autopilot) for the best experience possible out of my map.

24/11/15 - Remapped some sections in the ending kiai for better flow and variety from the other kiais.
28/11/15 - Cleaned up the second half of the map a little. Star rating changed from 7.44 to 7.45.
24/12/15 - Minor changes. Difficulty name changed from 'Legend' to 'It's not Legend'. Added a better map description to fully reflect the map.

  7. 02:21:593 (1,1) - same here pls at red tick, and change it to the other cases aswell Changing the middle spinner to the red tick would make it shorter and give an AIMod error. That also won't fit the song very well (Lesjuh also did this somewhere in Cry for Eternity).

  10. really i just see lazyness here sorry i don't wanna be rude but is what i see here squares and nothing else I changed the middle section squares into octagons and changed the last section into hexaoctagons to show that I'm not 'lazy' but the power spike from these shapes from the squares is massive (6.86 to 6.94). I chose the squares because they were a little easier than octagons because of jump distances but, being 'lazy' doesn't quite cut it.

02:57:818 (2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) - Oh dear, these jumps are very hard to read. Avoid jumps like these in the future because the person that is playing may have trouble trying to stream and read these jumps since they over lap each other.
02:56:168 - Just a suggestion, add a green offset so that the slider velocity could be .75 then make a slider up to 02:56:918 - then place a green offset there to make the beat normal again. I think that is just for fun, you do not have to actually do it.
06:51:743 (2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16) - This is a very irregular beat, the hit circles sounds go back and fourth which does not sound pleasant at all.
06:57:818 (9,10,11) - Do not overlap these, they look very awkward and are hard for the player to read.
06:58:268 (12,13,14,15) - Might as well combo break because that is just too hard for any player to play, I would suggest spreading them out more.
07:10:118 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) - These streams look very unorganized, do not put spaces in them and try to curve them.
06:53:918 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,1) - NEVER EVER DO STREAMS LIKE THIS. Players find it extremely annoying and hard to play streams that go up and down directly like this.
06:28:118 (6,7,8,9,10,11) - These sliders are off beat and get very repetitive. Spread them out more
06:30:218 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7) - These hit circles just simply sound incorrect. The positioning of them is also very hard to read.

The hit circles match the drum pattern in the song that plays in this section, so I thought I would match it. Originally, I had 1/1 semi-overlapped beats, but I prefer this.
06:57:818 (9,10,11) - Do not overlap these, they look very awkward and are hard for the player to read. I agree that this is quite awkward. However, I will not change this pattern. Players that actually get this far should be fine with this pattern.
06:58:268 (12,13,14,15) - Might as well combo break because that is just too hard for any player to play, I would suggest spreading them out more. I didn't actually have this section on my version of the map, so I have no idea what you have selected (sorry). I did put a combo break after the awkward pattern mentioned above, though.
07:10:118 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) - These streams look very unorganized, do not put spaces in them and try to curve them. I didn't change the fact that the stream curves. However, I did manage to find a note that was snapped at a different spacing to the others (circle 3 in that section). It looks much better and more organised now with this correction.

I don't think I have a solution for this, and spacing them out more would just get messy. It is a nice break from the spaced triple that leads in to the sliders.
06:30:218 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7) - These hit circles just simply sound incorrect. The positioning of them is also very hard to read. It follows the drum pattern that plays there and the positioning was intentional.

The pauses highlight the note changes in the guitar lead, while the stream follows the drum beat.

01:02:468 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7) - This is very hard for the player to read. Do not make jumps like this. Intentionally hard to read. I will keep this section like this.

Both the guitar notes here sound exactly the same, hence the overlapping sliders here and in the later sections in this section of the song.
01:21:818 (3,4,5) - That part is waaaay to hard to read. Just make it simple and do not try to add jumps. I didn't have any problem reading this. I will keep this triple here.
01:27:743 (3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,1) - These are unorganized streams. Please fix them. There was a pattern to these. However, I have made this a solid stream and I have added a combo break when it starts to change direction.
01:43:118 (1,2,3,4,5) - This is hard to read Yes, it is.
01:50:618 (1,2,3) - Do not make these spaced These are spaced so that they correspond to the sliders and circles that precede them.
01:59:093 (2,3,4,5) - Combo four is too far away from the others and it is hard to read. Avoiding doing other jumps like these. 4 is closer to 3 than 5 to 4. The reason why I put 5 there was to make it look like a 2, 3 and 5 look like a triple.
02:00:668 (8,9,10,11) - Hard to read and just plain difficult to play It is much easier to read than my previous solution here of a slider and hidden circles. However, it is more difficult to play.
02:02:018 (3,4,5,6,7,8,9,1,2,3) - Gets too repetitive, position them differently The position is repetitive, but it does play differently when going back and forth.
02:05:918 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16) - Overmapped streams. I would have considered this if you had not linked the whole deathstream. Maybe if you mentioned just the first 32, I would have changed it. The first 32 follow the drum patterns and the rest of the stream follows the fast guitar.
05:19:718 (1,2) - Change this into one long slider It won't match the stream patterns before these sliders without slider velocity changes, which in turn would mess the whole idea of horizontal reflection.
07:39:518 (3,4,5,6,7) - Too far apart Definitely intentional. This is to differentiate between those that are still prepared the play the map to the very end and those who are amazed that they are so close to the very end.
There were many more errors but they were just the same mistakes repeated over again, hopefully I helped you <3

Thank you for your mod! I think I did reject most of your mods to my map, mainly the mods that talk about the difficulty and readability of my map. This is because the map was made to be difficult. Thanks again for your mod!

Give the stream more spacing from 02:26:318 (1) - onward or just make the stream before it less spaced. Also your hitsounding is weird. Why clap and finish? I think you should follow the deep beats in the drums here when hitsounding.

02:40:868 (2) - Is this supposed to be a blanket

03:35:243 (8,1) - Probably no human can make this jump and it's just dumb. What justifies this there's nothing happening with the guitar or drums. It's just a random huge jump between two streams. I'm not gonna talk about any stream any more.

04:21:668 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7) - Boring pattern. Like even if the song is repeating here you don't have necessarily do this. There are a ton of patterns for repeating parts. For example this pattern that can be often found in monstratas maps which basically just goes up and down repeatedly and does it over and over again.

04:23:918 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) - This does not have to be entirely repetitive. There are different happenings with the guitar. Map them.

04:50:768 (4,1) - First you have decently big jumps. Cool nice I like jumps but then comes these notes and you put them 1mm close to each other. Isn't this kinda like uhh... random? I'm not gonna say anything about your patterns except that I don't like them.

05:11:918 (1) - Put a note to the white tick. Also add a circle to the spinners end at the white tick. The spinner should start and end on the blue or the red ticks.

05:18:518 (1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4) - What kind of a jesus do I have to be to hit these?

05:31:718 (1) - Note to the white tick

05:48:818 (5) - Are you serious. Anyways NC

I could probably go on and on about this map but I'm not going to. I feel like you really need to work on stuff here and get opinions from experienced mappers who map hard stuff. Hope I explained stuff carefully enough probably a ton of typos there so feel free to message me ingame if you didn't catch my meaning in some parts.

I can accept everything before 02:26:318 (1) - but after that it feels like just the same stuff is happening and nothing happened in the drums. Give the stream more spacing from 02:26:318 (1) - onward or just make the stream before it less spaced. Also your hitsounding is weird. Why clap and finish? I think you should follow the deep beats in the drums here when hitsounding.
I'm not very good at hitsounding, as evident by my hitsounding in this beatmap.

02:40:868 (2) - Is this supposed to be a blanket No, it's not meant to be a blanket. I will probably blanket it at a later time.

03:35:243 (8,1) - Probably no human can make this jump and it's just dumb. What justifies this there's nothing happening with the guitar or drums. It's just a random huge jump between two streams. I'm not gonna talk about any stream any more. It was made as a horizontal symmetry pattern. I'm pretty sure I did this jump and I'm clearly not a good player.

04:21:668 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7) - Boring pattern. Like even if the song is repeating here you don't have necessarily do this. There are a ton of patterns for repeating parts. For example this pattern that can be often found in monstratas maps which basically just goes up and down repeatedly and does it over and over again. I'm not monstrata. I have changed these jumps though.

04:23:918 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) - This does not have to be entirely repetitive. There are different happenings with the guitar. Map them. Did this.

04:50:768 (4,1) - First you have decently big jumps. Cool nice I like jumps but then comes these notes and you put them 1mm close to each other. Isn't this kinda like uhh... random? I'm not gonna say anything about your patterns except that I don't like them. It's a readability pattern. People can easily misread this pattern.

05:11:918 (1) - Put a note to the white tick. Also add a circle to the spinners end at the white tick. The spinner should start and end on the blue or the red ticks. I added a circle and moved the spinner 1 tick forward. The end will remain in the same position.

05:18:518 (1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4) - What kind of a jesus do I have to be to hit these? You answered this question earlier. Changed the pattern slightly.

05:31:718 (1) - Note to the white tick If you tested this, you would have noticed that the white tick would also make the spinner unplayable. Added a stream here.

05:48:818 (5) - Are you serious. Anyways NC Yes, I'm serious. I'm debating whether or not you were serious about this mod.

I could probably go on and on about this map but I'm not going to. I feel like you really need to work on stuff here and get opinions from experienced mappers who map hard stuff. Hope I explained stuff carefully enough probably a ton of typos there so feel free to message me ingame if you didn't catch my meaning in some parts.

Free mod, just some opinions, feel free to not take a lot of this into account, as I'm not good enough to play this, but some of these issues make the map nigh unplayable in my opinion.

Probably the biggest problem with this map is the artificial difficulty in the streams, like in 00:51:518 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,1) - . I don't think they fit the song a great deal. In that example, I can see how it gets more intense, but a full on jump into a different shaped stream doesn't flow that well. Some more examples:
01:35:918 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,1) - This flow looks really confusing. The jump to 01:36:368 (7,8) is much bigger than the one to 01:36:143 (4,5) - and the whole pattern is not consistent in its directional changes.
01:47:918 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) - The jump is pretty unnecessary imo.
05:18:593 (2,3,4,1,2,3,4) - This spacing change combined with the zig-zag doesn't flow well either imo.
05:47:918 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1) - Abrupt spacing and directional changes here.
05:50:918 (1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4) - ^
06:53:918 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) - This doesn't particularly flow either.
07:10:043 (8,1) - Kickslider would flow better.
This doesn't apply to all of these, but the flow in a lot of these are in a straight line, so it feels awkward to suddenly change direction. As for the "jumps", maybe kicksliders would feel better? It makes the movement a lot less jerky and flow much better in most of these cases.

Another thing is things like 01:53:918 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,1) - , where the music changes tone or instrument but you keep a continuous stream. It's not really a problem and the streams play fine without it, but the map could be a lot more interesting if you mixed in kicksliders and repeat sliders.

01:08:318 (1,2,3) - Might play better if you follow the main guitar here, your call.
01:17:018 (3,4,5) - The spacing isn't a big deal, but consistency might be. They don't all need to be the same spacing, but the increase from 0.96x to 1.6x to 1.92x maybe is too much considering it doesn't feel much more intense.
This is a problem that is repeated throughout a lot of the song imo (i.e. 04:04:418 (5,6,7) and 04:03:218 (5,6,7) ) so I

There's quite a lot more overlaps in this song. Most of them are pretty okay, but some of them could be much better done.

04:49:118 (1,2,3,4) - I'm not a big fan of these jumps.
07:39:518 (3,4,5,6,7) - The music isn't near intense enough to warrant these jumps.

A lot of these are just examples that appear throughout the song, but they are pretty similar and apparent to the ones listed.

I guess the main problem with this map is the difficulty. I know you want to make this map really difficult, and difficulty is always okay, but you should map for one thing and one thing always: the song, not the difficulty or the map. A lot of these patterns - especially the jumpstreams - feel very forced and not in line with the song itself, only there for the purpose of making the song harder and not to fit the song. That's not how it should be done.

All that being said, I do think a lot of this song is pretty well done. Parts like 03:44:318 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,1) - flow very well with the music - a lot of the streams play just fine, in fact - and some of the jumps are very fun to play. Just make sure to tone down some of the more extreme stuff.

However, I do see where you are getting at and I do see that parts in my map that do look like I've mapped entirely for difficulty. Except the end of the map, that was mapped entirely for difficulty inspired by the stupid Genryuu Kaiko ending. I have been tracking the star changes in my map though, mainly because it used to be less than 7.00 and I hit the 7 dream (gotta keep it up).

All that being said, I do think a lot of this song is pretty well done. Parts like 03:44:318 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,1) - flow very well with the music - a lot of the streams play just fine, in fact - and some of the jumps are very fun to play. Just make sure to tone down some of the more extreme stuff.
I'm glad you did enjoy the map and I will continue working on improving it and (hopefully) tuning the extreme stuff.

General Mod because going into the fine details of this map would probably take me several hours to type up everything. PLEASE do not take this in any offense, I may be very straight forward as I mentioned in my queue but I mean no harm to you as a mapper or your ideas, but dancing around the bush I feel won't help you at all

  2. Use less weird super spaced triples as they're unfun to play and they tend to be really finicky compared to just a stacked triple. Like unless you really need that triple to be moving super fast just have it be stacked, I promise the players will thank you

    Readability
  3. This map is seriously at times unreadable, like there's now way you're going to be able to even comprehend what is going on and it's mostly because of a lot of overlapping that just doesn't look appealing nor functional
  4. 01:02:468 (1,2,1,2,1,2,3) - whai, Yeah it being in the same line as the previous slider is cool and all but this literally just doesn't follow a comprehensive pattern of flow and it just confuses you, like if you must keep this 01:03:068 (1,2,3) - make this flow the same path as the orange combo so it has a back and forth, instead of being a back and forth and forth.
  5. 01:11:018 (3,4,5,8,9,10) - With the way you have the previous sections flowing you would expect this to me heading the other way, 01:13:118 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) - Similar to this part, which I don't agree with musically but it's nice and readable and flows alright
  6. 01:16:718 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) - Please tell me you're joking with this. I don't think top 50 players can sightread this but I have no idea

  11. 00:57:068 (1,2,3,4,5,1,2,3,4,5,6,7) - hohahahaoehiasklhenl;ajshdlf this part here makes me sad because during the black combo you make me move so quickly in one way and then you make me move back in 1/2 of a beat and it's hidden behind my still fading hitcircles, and then in another 1/2 of a beat you make me move BACK to where I was, this part literally flows so quickly and jaggedly I'd be surprised if even after knowing it was coming I could actually do it
  12. 01:15:818 (3,4,5) - This can go in both flow and readability tbh, it pretty much looks like it should be 1/2 based on the spacing but then it's a triple and idk. I guess it flows okay but I seriously just hate this much of a spread on a triple

K I looked at the first 2 minutes of the map after playing about the first 1 so I can assume the issues are throughout the map since they didn't get any better during the first 2 minutes I'm sure it gets even crazier during the kiai.

  1. Map the beginning No. The time between the start and the first break is far too long for anyone to play, especially with the number of streams, even if I make the intro easy.
  2. Use less weird super spaced triples as they're unfun to play and they tend to be really finicky compared to just a stacked triple. Like unless you really need that triple to be moving super fast just have it be stacked, I promise the players will thank you I will be removing spaced triples from the the first note up until the end of the first kiai, This will follow my system of increasing difficulties between kiai times. I removed all but 4 sets of evil triples which happen in the heavy streaming part of the map, in a part that I think calls for them.

This map is seriously at times unreadable, like there's now way you're going to be able to even comprehend what is going on and it's mostly because of a lot of overlapping that just doesn't look appealing nor functional I can easily read this map, so I never found the readability an issue. EDIT: I think I may have made the map slightly harder to read in different areas of the map, but it makes more sense now.
  4. 01:02:468 (1,2,1,2,1,2,3) - whai, Yeah it being in the same line as the previous slider is cool and all but this literally just doesn't follow a comprehensive pattern of flow and it just confuses you, like if you must keep this 01:03:068 (1,2,3) - make this flow the same path as the orange combo so it has a back and forth, instead of being a back and forth and forth. I've kept this pattern and haven't modified it. I've tried to modify it, but it just doesn't work, simply because I'm trying to keep it in line with the slider.
  5. 01:11:018 (3,4,5,8,9,10) - With the way you have the previous sections flowing you would expect this to me heading the other way, 01:13:118 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) - Similar to this part, which I don't agree with musically but it's nice and readable and flows alright I've changed the first combo set to match the readability and the flow of the second combo set.
  6. 01:16:718 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) - Please tell me you're joking with this. I don't think top 50 players can sightread this but I have no idea I've been trying to find a solution to it for some time now, so don't worry, it was never going to stay. I've redone this section to follow some symmetrical patterns, which means I have also modified the next part, in which it is similar to 1 of the flow problems you listed below.
  7. 01:30:218 (5,6) - This just looks really poor to be completely honest, having the 1/2 slider travel completely over the 1/4 slider just looks weird and it also makes this unnecessarily a challenge to read I've changed it so that only the end of the sliders touch. However, there is now a gap between the slider and the stream, but it is still very much playable, while still retaining some of the complex readability.
  8. 01:50:618 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9) - whyyyyyy is this on the same place it just makes it hard to read for no reasonnnnnnn I've heavily remapped this area of the song and the parts leading up to it. Lots of symmetry now.

  10. 00:54:518 (3,4,5,6) - Stuff like this plays so poorly and you can do so much more with such a high star map, you can make this some crazy ass big screen jumps like idk go nuts, this just feels forced and it really doesn't fit, and you did it a bunch of times Remapped this section and a few others that matched something like this.
  11. 00:57:068 (1,2,3,4,5,1,2,3,4,5,6,7) - hohahahaoehiasklhenl;ajshdlf this part here makes me sad because during the black combo you make me move so quickly in one way and then you make me move back in 1/2 of a beat and it's hidden behind my still fading hitcircles, and then in another 1/2 of a beat you make me move BACK to where I was, this part literally flows so quickly and jaggedly I'd be surprised if even after knowing it was coming I could actually do it I'm keeping this part.
  12. 01:15:818 (3,4,5) - This can go in both flow and readability tbh, it pretty much looks like it should be 1/2 based on the spacing but then it's a triple and idk. I guess it flows okay but I seriously just hate this much of a spread on a triple See below.

It's not really needed, due to the nature of the song. The first set of slow sliders coming from a fast stream already happens in the first chorus, and what you linked is the second set of slow sliders. If players can read the first set, it should be fine. Thanks for your suggestion anyway, but I will still add warnings to the beatmap (with a hint of sarcasm with the warnings), just not for the section you highlighted.

Hello. The slider is clearly over before the next one starts, there's even time to put a 1/2 note circle in between the sliders. If you meant it doesn't fade in the editor before placing another then play the pattern because it feels natural; it matches the song perfectly well (2 strummed chords that are the same).

6:38 drain time map, picks 1 small thing, doesn't even link the other 2 times this happens in the map gg.

Ok, now sure this is fine for the map, but being a big gh player the fact that the opening isn't mapped hurts me :/. although to be fair, nothing is still better than the disgraceful spinner spam in the ranked version.

00:44:318 - Ow, this is really brutal here, even for a "master" difficulty I don't think this should ever happen, make the spinner end half a measure earlier, if anyone actually spins the entire way they WILL miss the stream and die right off the start.

00:47:918 - (1) Random really small spacing here, kinda fucks with the flow of this part, consider revising circle placement for this single-tapping segment.

00:53:318 - I DO LIKE how the stream was done, mostly, but this notch here is just a bitch to read, please just keep doing what you were doing earlier in the stream.

01:01:868 - (6,1,1,1-3) I really shouldn't have to say anything about this, technically there's nothing wrong with the spacing but you aren't hollow wings and it shows here, don't use super technical patterns just to make artificial difficulty.

01:06:668 - (3,4) I'd think cause of the timing here, that 3 and 4 should be spaced like a double rather than added to the end of 1 and 2, maybe just lower them both to the bottom-left corner? That'd probably look better.

01:26:468 - (2) OK, just hover on this spot, this summarizes my opinion of this entire section pretty well until the solo's. I GUESS there's technically nothing wrong with what you've done here, but it's really pushing it. I'm not certain what I can really suggest here, since I can't say any of this is completely unrankable or unplayably broken cause it's not. However I CAN say that this isn't even remotely fun to play, and I don't know a single person who finds this fun, it's not even awkward motion, it's just painful on the eyes, this portion is only readable on HDHR and if you turn them on the solo's are borderline impossible; there's just no middle ground here. I'd say you know exactly what I'm talking about and I can't have been the first person to bring this up. You could leave it alone but do so at your own risk, it's technically right but if you're going for rank it'll be a hell of a fucking battle on your end to force this through like it is, don't say you weren't warned.

Aaaaand, I'm sorry, but I just can't really mod this, the later parts of this map are a combination of fast and painful on my eyes that I can't deal with. Hopefully whatever I was able to give you was helpful, but seriously, you should rethink how you want to go about mapping this, because this just doesn't seem like it's working as of right now. Maybe just sit back and it and try looking at the other dragonforce maps, take from them and start with basic patterns, function before form will help you out. GL

I think I've got so used to this opening that I don't notice the difficulty. EDIT: I moved the ending of the spinner back a lot and added a finish sound with it to make it sound better. I'll try my best to change this section to something more suitable to the 'easy' portion of my map, but I also like the idea of a battle to force this through (I like challenges :) 8-) ). EDIT: I've changed this pattern. It looks better, but I also don't think it is quite how you wanted it and it might still be difficult to rank something like that. Then again this whole map is like that.

GL Most of the people that have modded don't get past the first kiai so it's good, it's not like a modder hasn't stopped on my map before. It is a 7.45* marathon after all. I started mapping this to sort of get away from the other DragonForce maps, because although most of them are great, they all do feel the same to me (except Cry Thunder for some of it's sections).

Thanks for your mod! They have been helpful as a read and I'll work with these mods when I get back home (tomorrow). I have looked at them first though so I can at least comment on them.
EDIT: I have finished with these mods. I've reworked a tad more than asked to make it flow better. Didn't make it past the kiai though.

I'll try to come up with something over the week. It's quite difficult to remap this, because I'll have to remap the following streams too.
