God I hope no one already suggested this since it's a damn pain having to browse and look for duplicates in a standard smartphone.

I was inspired by this site's uploading method and how my current internet life is right now.

So, I have an idea: What if osu! has a way to upload a beatmap through the website as an alternative to the in-game beatmap submission service?

This can be realized by making a page specifically for this feature. You can upload an .osz file of a beatmap that you want to upload here. (If possible, the interface should be as simple as possible to allow even those on their phone to do this. I know it sounds very strange to upload a map that you made on a computer from a phone, but this can be useful to those who somehow don't have an access to the internet on their PC but do have it on their phone, just like how I am right now when I type this.)

This can be also helpful if you want to upload a beatmap from a computer which doesn't have osu! in it (For a case example, if the PC that has osu! doesn't have an internet connection, and there is another PC that is the opposite of it).

This should not just be used to submit a new mapset. It should be able to support the updating of beatmaps that are already uploaded beforehand, be it a full update (using .osz) or just per-difficulty and specific file uploading. (And there should be another page designed to manage a mapset's files, but that's another matter). This shouldn't have its own page, but integrated with the mapset's beatmap listing page.

Well, that's what I have in mind. What do you guys think?

well...when the map is uploading it edit the BeatmapID and the BeatmapSetID, how can it do that if you upload it from the web?

I think it's possible to do that via the web interface too. Don't know much about programming (yet), though, but I think this can be done by the uploader interface modifying the map and mapset ID after the map gets uploaded. I think that can be done pretty easily.
