I'd personally like it if osu allowed you to set a default bpm to play at, I normally play at 6-9 bpm but there's some maps where it starts you out at around 25 bpm which I woulldn't be able to play if my life depended on it. So I think it would be really cool if there were an option to set the bpm that you would always start at, so that way I don't have to spam F4 to slow down what I'm seeing. Disable this option in General options in the main osu! menu.
