OMG and LOL at the olympic games.

Not long ago, the olympic torch thing was lit in greece, and in pretty much every country it's been through, there's been thousands of protesters because of some tibet thingy. It went through london today, and it's been put out twice and snatched about 5 times, there's a huge amount of police escorting it too, apparently someone got shot as well.
I wonder if it'll actually reach beijing before the backup fire is put out.

Looks like they did.
In paris, someone managed to extinguish it entirely. I don't know the full details, but apparently it was one of the officials that did it.

lol, for once, the stupid/gay assignment my french teacher gives me can come in handy....... the french president is all pissed off at China for its crackdown and stuff on Tibet for some confusing reasons (I'm not gonna get into detail) and the french president wants to boycott the olympic games, and I guess some french citizens also agree, and wanna stop the fire, and do

imo the whole situation can be summarized as "You got political bs in my sports bs".
oh and the chinese government is denying that the torch got extinguished completely in France.

I have never played it but I have seen the previews and Sonic and Mario were head to head in a track event

which is fucking retarded

Mario is a fat Italian plumber...not the spitting image of an athlete, if you ask me.

Sonic is hopped up on gawd knows what and runs really fast for a living. The concept of balance in this game is wrong if it is present and moot otherwise.

Both China and Western country make the unfair report.

There's 2 truth:
1 Dalai is a terrorist, and they sure do what terrorists should do. Their target is not free Tibet. (If you have been in Tibet, you'll know that.)
2 China's goverment don't want Chinese knows the information: Tibet is not a part of China when the Republic was built. (It seems like there was a hidden war in late 1950.)

It is justified, the Torch Run was never part of ancient Olympics anyway.

But I find it ridiculous, I just hope the protesters won't influence the actual running of it, while I hope the administrations won't cancel Olympics because the Torch Run had been completely thwarted.

Yeah, I find it difficult to put a firm stance on the situation. What Tibet's been doing has been successful in getting the message out that they're being treated unjustly and won't stand for it, but on the other hand they're being hypocritical and causing a shitstorm for other innocent people, SPREADING their problem.

If I recall correctly, the Olympics is supposed to be a racist-free event or something. People are supposed to view one another as athletes, as oppose to what countries they're from, and sportsmanship, and harmony and all that rainbows-and-flowers goodness.

Given the content of the thread I think it's safe to say it was but a parody of the title. Not many people misspell "Sonic" or "Mario" that poorly.

it's getting extremely confusing now, the news says there are plans to restart the whole thing.

Also, Lolginer said "the chinese government" was full of fail as oppose to "the chinese" which I think is a big difference, as the chinese government should be held responsible for what had been going on, rather than the people.

Of course the AIDS comment is racist but at the same time was intended for lulz. So stances will differ, there.
