osu! "General Discussion" forum.

You could probably just rename Gameplay & Rankings to General Discussion, but anyways...

The General Discussion we have is honestly supposed to be used for talking about non-osu! things, it's used for osu! things sometimes because topic creators have a brain fart since there is no "General Discussion" forum under the "osu!" forum.

...So yeah. osu! section = Feature Requests, General Development, Gameplay & Rankings, Help & Support, etc. in case anyone is confused about what I mean.

I vote for a Gameplay & Rankings rename, but either way, I think having a General Discussion osu! section would be quite nice.

Can you give an example of a topic which doesn't fit in the current osu! forums but it still osu!-related?

It's not so much a "doesn't fit" as a "stop people from posting osu! stuff in General Discussion because that is for non-osu! stuff".

It's not so much a "doesn't fit" as a "stop people from posting osu! stuff in General Discussion because that is for non-osu! stuff".
The reason most "important" threads (notably Cyclone's) which call for discussion are put in General Discussion because it's popular and people look there more often.

Seriously, forgot to reply to that.

None of the threads there are important enough to be special. They are there because they see "General" and "hey, it doesn't fit in Gameplay & Rankings and none of the other forums, let's just stick it in the non-osu! section of the forum!".

As it is it is confusing. The logical order of things should be to have all of the osu!-related topics in the osu! section of the forum. Renaming Gameplay & Rankings to General Discussion will fix the entire problem of osu!-related topics having nowhere to go, like the first one in this post. More people will look at it too; the "General" section related to a game is usually the most popular game-related boards on forums.

It's messy. Trying to deny that is like trying to deny that mixing papers from all of your classes together is great organization.

We have osu! topics mixed in with topics that have absolutely nothing to do with osu!. What is the point of splitting it into "osu!" and "other" if we're going to mix the two?

That and, as I already said, Gameplay & Rankings is essentially a "General" for osu! and I think it should be renamed to reflect this.

Now, I have no problem with the current situation and *I'm* definitely not confused. I just think this is a good idea. Actually, I think renaming it to "osu! talk" would be the best route if this suggestion happens. I don't mind if this gets denied, this suggestion just makes sense to me.

Alright my bad for typing it so short. In most communities this is how it is and i think you said it yourself, General Discussion is usually the most popular place for people to look at. Changing it now after 3 years.. well it will be organized but i think less people will look at it. However i'm neutral on this.

Bumping. That "problem" doesn't looks like it still cause Problems anymore.
