In the options menu there could be a button that shows you what will show when you hit /np in a specific situation.
If you're in the beatmap menu, the beatmap you're on will be shown as default as "*<User> is listening to <Beatmap; no difficulty listed>"
You could change that to something spiffy like... "*<User> has <Beatmap; no difficulty listed> currently highlighted."
