I was discussing this with a few people, and the reason why this map (http://osu.ppy.sh/s/10276) had so many timing sections. It was because this song has fluctuating time signature, rapidly switching from 3/4 to 5/4 to 4/4. Some songs even have a single time signature that use 3.5/4, which is very troublesome. Normally, red timing sections would fix this issue, but if too many red timing sections are used, the latter part of the song eventually goes really early.

What I request is simple; make green timing sections have the ability to reset the metronome or/and change the time signature without messing up the relative timing.

Main concern here is to keep Taiko authenticity as the linebars need to be in the appropriate metronome...

Also, to clarify that the song linked above does have fluctuating time signatures:

If I'm right about the way the framework is built, this would require a lot of restructuring.

The placement of bars is decided entirely from the offset, and inheriting sections, by definition, don't change the offset.

If you place your timing sections starting with the last, you shouldn't get any offset drift.

You can also set time signatures for inheriting sections manually in the .osu file, though they may not behave as expected because of what I said further up. You can also set oddball time signatures this way.

3.5/4? You're sure it shouldn't be 7/8?

Take a look at sequences #16 and 17 over here: Uh wait a minute are the insane number of lines indicating that those sequences are indeed 7/8? If so, then how do I somehow force osu! to treat it as such :(

Set the BPM to twice its usual value.
Half the approach rate for this section.

Or just double the BPM everywhere.

Hm, actually, when I did map the song in the second post (http://osu.ppy.sh/s/10568) I did use Double BPM, but that was because of Taiko authenticity issues and not the 7/8 issue :/

I kinda doubt that, mainly from experience. If you try making all the timing sections in this (http://osu.ppy.sh/s/11987) turn to red and resnap, some of the latter notes are sounding incredibly early, from what I've tried just now. Well actually this has been a case of using BPMs that are doubled the actual so I bet that's causing a problem. But in the map I stated in the first post (http://osu.ppy.sh/s/10276), all of the red timing sections were put on white ticks, and the latter notes sound evidently late (don't mind the unsnapped part though, those were originally a bunch of red timing sections with the same BPM too; I just had to change it to some smaller values, but in general they all land on 222 BPM's white ticks). But if I turn them all green and resnap the notes, they're sounding a lot better.

I don't know if I'm just paranoid over some 3ms difference, but it's really not pleasing to my ears.

EDIT: Oh yeah, another thing. If I try placing a x4 BPM somewhere landing on a metronome start, somehow notes in that section always comes out 1ms early after a while >_>

It should be no more than a 1ms difference no matter what.

The 1ms will add up over time, though.
mm201
That's why you place your timing sections starting with the last.
