Why is Osu angry over deleting beatmap background?

I just deleted background of every single song. I know some people might not understand. But I did it for personal reason.
Here's question.
Why does it say it's angry? What's the problem of deleting background? It's not like osu is getting profitted by backgrounds right? or is it?

Dimming still shows background when beat map is on rest.

My guess is that when osu tries to find a beatmap background and fails, it may crash.

The background is part of map, and as such you shouldn't be deleting them. Either start dimming 100% or put up with the messages.
