I was persuaded into trying. ;_; Sorry for bad quality of coloring; I broke my tablet and I fail with a mouse.

One problem is the wording "don't let the combo burst" sounds like you need a full combo, rather than avoiding combo bursts.

Ohh; I've been approved by Peppy. Thaanks. I've got the .png with no green stroke / signature if you ever want it for who knows what reason.

Lol. I was being a nub and totally ignored the "no text" rule thing. I thiiiink I just now picture what you wanted: All banners including Pippi doing something silly/amusing related to the title; art taking most of the space in banner; solid-ish background. Something easy to alter. I hope I can try again before the deadline.

Hujune: I like the cursor/circle color combination. P:

@ Caramelyth: Text won't be a huge penalty; just make sure to keep your layered files so modifications to the text and whatnot can be made afterwards, should there be any.

@hujune: Looking good - make sure you have two so you are considered for the comp :).

About this contest, I think the people isn't giving it's best shot. Users like Caramelyth, Rokodo and crystalsuicune amaze me, because they're fighting so well, and that's what people should do.

(And maybe you can't note it, but I'm doing my effort. It's the first time I mix computer design with drawings made by myself.)

(P.S: Sorry to upload this to upppy. I couldn't attach it.)

EDIT 1: Few minutes I uploaded the drawing, I modified it. ¬¬ I'm so undecisive.

To be honest, I'd really like to extend the deadline for this competition just to try and get some more entries, and let people who have only submitted one sample make a second. What do people think?

Extension. Hmph. Yeah; I do believe a lot of people aren't really trying, but that is most probably because they do not have the time. I think most of us are in a busy academic period. If Peppy really wants to recruit a good team of designers/artists, maybe it would be good to try some time again during holidays or some kind of break; before any other future project. High quality work from scratch takes a lot of time time. Consistency will be hard to find.

That's pretty cute. Also, I appreciate you looking forward to mine. Yeah, consistency is hard to find, I can be very lazy as well. I'm in college at the moment(Digital Animation), but I do have some free time. I think I'd do pretty well for this "project", only thing is, I don't have a tablet to make things faster..so everything's done by hand, so an extension is a god send.

Hmmm... An extension would be unfair for those who made its creations before the deadline (including me XD).

However, I don't see many (quality) pictures to choose from. So... Maybe an extension could be good.

And I could polish my drawings ^^.

I'd like to extend the deadline until the 14th of March. Anyone who has already submitted artwork can still make modifications to it. I'd also appreciate if people that haven't posted two pieces of work fitting the original criteria could do so. Those two have only submitted one will unfortunately not be considered for the final judging (mainly because I need someone who has some level of commitment so we can get the full set done).

Please give it a shot if you haven't already - the more entries the better :).

I know it doesn't look as serious as the others, but that's because I tried to use a comical and japanese drawing stlye. However, do this without a tablet and only an scanner it's difficult for me.
Anyway, I hope you like it.

Getting the dimensions right for both of mine will be a hassle since they're scanned from a hard-copy.

EDIT: Let's hope I re-size the picture right. Uaaargh.

Won't be doing any designs for the challenge artwork. Loads of problems etc.

I'm not much of an artist, and I don't own a tablet. so all this is done by mouse
I was trying something original, I know it's not a work of art, but it sparks with originality ;D (not very good quality -_-)...

Put some time into this one ^, not many vector shapes and no existing sprites

kina rushed on this one -_-... white lines probably make this not stand a chance

anyways, can't keep up with the competition I'm against, but I thought I would share this with ya guyz :x

Well, I must congrat to all the people who participated on this competition. Few but good works, I think, specially the last ones.

Although I wish to win, I must admit there are many hi-quality works. The people really give us their best shot (with a few exceptions).

OH-SHI-: What a shame you couldn't participate... your work is awesome.
Caramelyth, crystalsuicune: I'm sure you'll win. Many people agree ^^

Well... Let's the judging begin, and good luck to everyone (including me XD).

Just to keep you guys updated - closed judging is under progress and will be complete on the 20th. After this date, I will decide if the winner has enough margin to warrant an outright win, else there will be a second round of judging.

From the initial entries, there were 7 invalid submissions (not enough entries per person), leaving a remaining 13 judged entries. I made an initial pass myself to ensure we didn't get too much noise during the closed voting procedure, and ended up with 6 finalist entries.

More to come!
