They've made a browser, an operating system, a phoneOS and even the phone itself. They've taken over Youtube and released their own version of twitter (Buzz). What's next? Well you're next ISP may be Google!

Do you have enough of bandwidth limits and shitty 5mbps connections? Don't you envy them japanese people with their average of 80mbps that costs even less than your connection? Well who knows, Google might come in and eff all those shitty ISPs who only want to suck your money by making their own "opensource" connetion that will go up to 1Gbps.

I love them for how they make everything open and stuff<3

Well still... We still have 120Mbps over here and yet it's cheap, because it's only 60 PLN. (About $25) :D

It's hilarious to see a lot of morons opposed to this because "lol google zappin' mah privacy".

If they have the power to dominate the market, run other ISPs out of business, and become a monopoly, then I'd rather they didn't.

If I get 1gps connections, go for it. The majority of current American ISPs are inefficient or just plain retarded.

They're nor retarded or efficient, they're actually pretty smart.

Why offer 100mbps when you can offer 5?
The only way their thing would stop working is if some other ISP came out with something higher, but then again, they don't. I'll bet you anything that all these ISPs have a deal with each other to keep the same "max speed", and as long as no one sells anything higher, they'll be fine.

It's all about money for them, they go for whatever is the most profitable, and it's they have no reason to offer higherspeed.

Also, @awp: I honestly wouldn't mind. So far, I've never seen any corporation be as opensource and friendly. They make A LOT of money, but instead of keeping it all for themselves, they actually use it. Honestly, there's no point in having a million dollar or over nine thousand billion, and these guys understood that very well. Instead of just saving the money until the end of times, they invest it into more projects, and that's the way to go.

Although, Valve has been quite open too <3

Considering how much company drama has happened against companies trying to take googles information or use it.
