I drag spinners and hover everything else, and there is a roundish spot of where I spin on my tablet that is a lot glossier than the rest of the tablet. I drag spinners because it helps me spin closer to the centre more accurately.
it's probably because you don't have a mech keyboard.

I transitioned yo tablet at about rank 14k a month or so ago so the transition is fresh in my memory. First map I failed a hard, after about half an hour or so I was playing insanes again but still very inconsistent. By the end of the first day I was already finding half streams / squares a lot easier but still inconsistent compared to mouse. By the end of the second day I was better, faster and more consistent with aiming using full area tablet (ctl480) than I was with deathadder + goliathus mouse pad. Tablet is an objectively better tool for aiming in osu, just get used to it.

my aim is slightly better today. however, i'm still not as consistent as i was with mouse and still cannot FC any maps that i previously could FC relatively easily

Do you move with your arm, wrist, or fingers (or, preferably, all three)?
Good, then I would say just try relaxing a bit when you play. You'll loosen up over time.

Yeah I think I'm finally starting to get used to this nearing the end of my second day...jumps are hella easier with this compared to using mouse rofl
Ever heard of the word "practice"? That might be a little clue for ya, Tablets take time to get used to.
i have eaiser with jumps using mouse because i can get to screen edges better
