I don't know which came first, sh*tty rave music... or the drugs.
WIP- Difficult song to map, don't expect to get ranked, but real fun to make and hopefully to play.

Hi there.

From reddit here: http://www.reddit.com/r/osugame/comment ... _what_ive/

The bpm should probably by 164 instead of 87. This doesn't change the gameplay at all, but it does match the expectations of the map better.

https://osu.ppy.sh/wiki/Blanket_Combos

Think about blanketing more things like (01:06:076 (1,2) -, 00:15:558 (1,2) - , 01:17:282 (4,5) - [4's end-point could be blanketed by 5]) to name some examples.

The flow for the first 10 seconds is too repetitive (basically clockwise circle). On a similar note, while using the same curvature slider can be good to help make patterns fit with themselves, that's one of the reason why it felt stale before the break (3 different sliders). One thing I would have like to see is different spacing (i.e jumps) and this plus a few more different patterns would go a long way.

Linear sliders are hard to make fun. You might see people complain that the flow here is too basic (00:12:454 (1,3) - ).

It's helpful to stack things on old notes. For instance, the ends of the sliders might look a tiny bit better here (00:22:799 (3,6) - ). This pattern doesn't necessarily need it, but it could help in the future.

The drop down bars at the top have a lot of cool things you can do. Take a look at the pattern here 00:24:868 (1,2,3,4) - . It's not quite circular enough imo. You can go to Compose -> Create Polygon Circle and type in like 12 points. This will create a shape for you, and you can then use the first 4 circles as the pattern. Also the following slider at (5) might deviate from the flow a bit too much.

00:54:006 (3) - . Take a look at the top right corner and you'll see that the distance from the previous and following note are different, and it would be better if they were the same (looks and plays well). Distance snap is very good for this kind of flow/pattern (of course, don't use it everywhere).

Symmetry is also a good way to make a map look good. this pattern would look awesome with symmetry along the y-axis and some blanketing (01:28:661 (2,3,4,5) - ), So it's better to copy and paste 2 to make 4 by then flipping it (CTRL + H) then reversing it (CTRL + G)

If you're not going to map any further into the song, cut the mp3. You can use a program like Audacity to fade out the music and make a new mp3 that way.

Also end the kiai, so much orange.

Love the background

It had some good flow so I liked it overall. I don't like the scratches (the 1/16th notes, or the 1/8ths after the bpm change) in general (they disrupt gameplay for me, obviously that's just the nature of the song). Other options that exist for the scratches are using a really slow slider (use an inherited timing section and go under timing to change sv speed) or by making a slider with a crazy motion (see other maps of the same genre like https://osu.ppy.sh/s/73576). Maybe it would make a good dynamic when two scratches are close together you make the middle of them have a fast flow so that the scratch is there to slow things back down.

Hope this helps!

Also from the reddit thread. Sorry if I make any mistakes on the formatting, it's my first time modding.

00:49:038 (2) - this slider ends at a weird time.

00:58:187 (1) - this slider starts at a weird time.
and, that part of the map is really weird, here's how I would do it:
from 00:58:230 to 00:58:575 a stream of 5 circles and 3 hitcircles leading up to the slider at 00:59:006 (16) starting at 00:58:747

same thing as above for the section at 01:20:385

00:55:213 there should be a circle here.

My thoughts on the mapping in general:
The mapping is really inconsistent and the sliders are really weird, and that makes them look ugly.
