Why Did I just drop so many ranks?

So I Justa played a song and got #410 in a beat map, This increased my rank to #97,753. I decided to add a couple more mods to increase my rank on it. I did better and got #297 on it, howver It droped me to #98,209. Why did i drop so many ranks? am I not allowed to do such a thing or why did I loose ranks? Could someone please explain?

Accuracy is still important in completing beatmaps, the one that got rank 410 was a perfect, but DTing it made it a bit less accurate, thus you lost some pp. Try retrying the map to get a perfect again and you'll get your pp back. Also, at low ranks, a couple pp makes a big difference compared to high ranks.

Thank you for explaining, Ive recently gotten to playing OSU this often and it really threw me off. Once again, Thank you.
