Ah, it is basically the same thing yes. I thought it might be less messy though to avoid the re-duplication process, and just have the program look for skin elements within the beatmap folder. I suppose the alternative would create a folder that the user could then further customize, but all I really wanted to do was be able to use some of the skins.
Maybe a mod can merge these threads? I believe we basically are after the same functionality.
