When playing multiplayer there is always a problem of having maps that are too hard for some people or too easy for others.
I would like it if there was an "Average rank" which finds the average of all the ranks in the room; from there the person closest to it could look what star difficulty is recommened by using This.
Another way of doing it would be to straight up show the recommended difficulty for the room somewhere.
When playing if the average player of the room is recommended 4.0 stars we used a range of .6 (so when they when to select a map they searched for Stars<=4.3 Stars>=3.7) With 4.0 being in the middle of that range. Players who are more skilled would use mods to reach their recommended difficulty (removing it when they would go to select a map so easier stuff isn't shown). DT can be selected and the same search criteria would fit.
A difficulty selector for the room could also be in place so that the recommended difficulty is shifted above or below the average. When creating a room it could be Easy, Normal, Hard, Insane (or an order of something else). Insane or the highest difficulty would use the upper spectrum for difficulty recommendation in the room while Easy would use the lower spectrum.
If this is done correctly I find that it would still challenge skilled players while giving newer or less skilled players a chance to push themselves and still have fun.
