One of the videos in my beatmaps is of pretty low quality so i decided to try and replace it so i would get some more enjoyment out of it,

I renamed the file and then replaced the old one with the new

The problem is that when i try and replace the video it doesnt play when i try the game in osu! but when i put the old one back it does

Change the filename in the .osu file?

I'm not really understanding your situation or problem...

Theres a video in one of the beatmaps i play that is really low quality and i want to replace it

I renamed the new video to the name of the old one and deleted the old one

whenever i launch osu to play the beatmap the video won't play

What format is the video in? .flv? .avi? .mp4? etc.

You need to change the filename of the video in each individual .osu file, and make sure you didn't mistype/paste anything wrong.

Do you have video enabled in Options?

Maybe you compressed the video wrong and broke something? I'm not very familiar with compressing videos. >.>;

The original video was .avi and i changed the higher quality from .flv to .avi to see if that fixed the problem but no go

and your second i question i think you mean did i rename the file to the original and yes i did

i do have video enabled

and i have no idea what you mean by the fourth question
Derekku
How did you "change" it from flv to avi?

a typical converter you can find on the web i downloaded the program and placed the file in it
Derekku
Converters don't always work, so you may need to get a video compressing program and recompress the file correctly. I'm not comfortable with doing it myself, so I really can't help you with that. Someone else on this forum should be able to help, though. Sorry! D:
