would be nice, maybe assign one of the function keys to toggle it on and off so you can easily navigate through chat tabs

Sounds like an interesting idea, but not sure if people would end up just "ignoring" this by letting it die down and, well, no one uses arrow keys for navigating anymore

alt + arrow keys navigates chat tabs. Alt + number also changes chat tabs.
