would you buy a ultra wide monitor (32:9) if you could or would you stick the 16:9?

In your opinion what are the pros or cons of ultra-wide monitors?

At most id probably get 2 monitors but i think ultra wide monitors are pretty inconvenient for me. Like most of the games id be playing wouldn't support ultra wide anyway and it feels like alot of money to shell out for something instead of getting something better like a higher refresh rate or higher resolution 16:9 monitor.

  1. What i dont like:
    1. I can NOT find alot of good wallpapers for ultra wide (ive tried before)
    2. They take up a lot of desk space
    3. I'd need to sell a kidney to get one
    4. Personal opinion but its too big for me and i feel like i'll probably regret getting one
  1. Theres like two good points i can add to having an ultra wide:
    1. I think they're pretty immersive since the monitor covers a lot of your vision. May be good for driving sims
    2. Alot of desktop space for multi tasking

Yeah not many games support it and for work and stuff you're not gonna use the whole screen for a single window so having 2 16:9 would just be more practical.
Especially now screens have very thin edges so if you put them close together you don't have a 3cm+ gap between the actual screens.

I don't really get the point of them hoenstly

never tried one so really can't give myh opinion, I'm not interested in buying one though, it requires a powerful pc to really be able to run things at that resolution and I just don't have that.

i have seen them in person but i've never been interested in them

it looks cool but I feel like I'd have a hard time getting the cursor across the screen even with increased sensitivity XD

A plus I can think of from this would be having multiple spilt screens for BIGGG projects, but who can even handle all of that XDDDDD I'm fine with just two tabs thanks

it also costs an arm and a leg and then some. but if I could get one for free/very cheap alongside some replacement parts and a desk that can hold it, I'd take it in a heartbeat

32:9 would be too much, but i really like my 21:9 screens

ofc there are some downsides with scaling problems esp on old games
but most of the time you can easily fix it

21:9 is goat for productivity, especially for editing videos and such.

i will stay on 16:10 1440x900
this is great

Not overrated, but I'd say overkill.

Nothing that 16:9 2560x1440 can't do for me.
