The combo counter is at the middle of the screen and it is really annoying when u are playing with flashlight, such a big distraction.
Anyway to remove it or put it somewhere else?

to remove the combo counter, you must go into the files on your computer, find the skin that you use, and replace all the numbers with 1x1 blank pictures and that should do that trick, however, you will not be able to see your score during play or your accuracy, hope this helps : 3

Actually the combo counter and the score numbers are different and it can be adjusted by skin.ini. You have two diferent types of numbers in the skin's folder if you look carefully. I dunno now which is which I need to take a look but I'm on laptop with its own shit mousepad so I can't do it now, but if you still interested in it just write me a pm and I will explain it how it work (I need to find out before anyways).

Hit circle prefixes only applies on standard, not on other modes so its impossible to do it without modifying the numbers used on the scores.

I took a fast look into the folder and yeah it is maybe true. Both score and counter is using the score numbers as default.

ah yes that's right, I forgot about that haha, what I did, was I made the images blank, and put a 1x1 black dot (in paint of course) in it's place, then copied and pasted for each individual number. Though i only had to change one set of numbers while i left the other ones alone. i'll have to look into it but i'm not sure if there is any other way to remove the counter without doing this process xD

Its also the same as the other modes. Combo counters shows at:

  • osu!: Lower left
    Taiko: Drum (taiko-bar-left)
Catch the Beat: Above the plate
    osu!mania: Above the stage.
To reduce the hassle, simply rename the blank images with the prefix "blank" and set the value of ScorePrefix to "blank"
Example: blank-0.png, blank-1.png, blank-2.png, etc.

This way, you no longer need to replace the images you're using because you can just set the ScorePrefix back to its original one.
Too bad hiding the combo counter was denied before.
