Registration
- Players must register in solo/duo by June 8th, 2025 @ 23:59.- Referees, designers, streamers and commentators are allowed to play. Other staff positions such as testers, assistants and poolers are not.
- If you do not have a team, but want to play as teams of 2, you can sign up through the looking for team form and post in the discord’s looking for team channel.
- All team members must be in the discord.
Match Procedure
- Players will be notified 15 minutes or more before their match, and invited to a multiplayer lobby 5 minutes before the arranged time (see below).- Players are must to send their warm-up map (can be optional) beforehand to the referee. If they do not send the map 5 minutes before the match time, they will not have a warm-up.
- Warm-up maps cannot be explicit, must be uploaded to the osu website, and cannot have a drain time over 4 minutes.
- Teams will have a 15 minute grace period to enter the lobby. If they do not show up within 15 minutes after the match start time, they forfeit the match and the other team wins by default.
- Each team will be able to protect one map and ban one map.
- Before the match, team captains will roll using the !roll command. The team with the higher result will get the choice of protecting first and banning second, or protecting second and banning first (ABBA format). Roll winner picks first.
- Both teams will choose 1 player to play each map. Players are free to switch positions without limitations, or not switch at all, but only one player can play at a time (this includes Qualifiers).
Between maps, teams will have 2 minutes to pick a new map and substitute players. Going past this time limit will result in a random map selection.
Match Scheduling
- Hosts will provide a default match time for every match, taking into account each team’s provided time zone.- Team captains should communicate with each other (make sure your direct messages are open to requests).
- Once both captains agree on a time, one team will send a reschedule request to the #reschedule channel in the Soundwave Mania 2 discord server. If teams cannot agree to a reschedule time, the team with the higher seed will advance as a win by default (WBD). However, if there is proof of stalling or unwillingness to cooperate from a team, then the hosts will take action accordingly.
- Teams will have until the Thursday of the week at 23:59 UTC+0 to finalize a reschedule of their match. Any reschedule submitted later than this time period is not guaranteed to be accepted, determined by the availability and flexibility of our staff members. If your team needs an emergency reschedule (for any reason or if you forgot to reschedule during the normal rescheduling period), you should do so until Sunday 23:59 UTC+0.
- If one team does not respond to messages or if you're having trouble agreeing to a time, contact the hosts for help. The sooner the better!
- Extenuating circumstances may require staff intervention to keep things as fair as possible. We encourage teams to contact each other as soon as possible to avoid this.
Round Structure and Format
- The tournament will begin in the Round of 64. The teams with the 64 best qualifier scores will play — if fewer than 64 teams play the qualifier, then the tournament will continue with defaults, where top seeded teams will skip the RO64, and get a bye to the RO32.- Maps will be played 1v1 with scorev2.
- The tournament will use a double elimination bracket.
- Qualifiers will consist of 7 maps; seeding will be determined by average placement. Teams will have 2 tries for each song (second try optional), with one player playing per attempt.
- Round of 64 and Round of 32 will have a pool consisting of 11 maps, best of 7.
- Round of 16 and Quarterfinals will have a pool consisting of 13 maps, best of 9.
- Semifinals and Finals will have a pool consisting of 15 maps, best of 11.
- Grand Finals will have a pool consisting of 17 maps, best of 13.
