Tournament Rules
- One Key World Cup (1KWC) is a 2v2 tournament with team sizes of 2-4 (subject to change at host's discretion).
- Beatmap scoring is based on TeamVS, ScoreV2.
- All maps used in the tournament are dedicated 1-key osu!mania maps.
- The tournament is Free Mod; players are allowed to use: Hidden, Fade-In, Flashlight, Mirror, any of the key-count mods, or no mod.
- The NF mod may be used but is not mandatory; failed scores do not count to the end result.
- If a map ends in a draw: the beatmap will be replayed. If that map ends in a draw again: Picker's Privilege - the team that picked the map will be awarded 1 point, the map will no longer be pickable, and the match will proceed as normal. Teams cannot win a match via the Picker's Privilege rule; in such cases where this would occur: the map will be replayed until a winner is decided.
- If a player disconnects: they are treated as if they failed. Map aborting for a "false start" is allowed if a disconnect occurs within the first 30 seconds or 25% of the map, whichever comes first.
- The usual osu! rules apply; therefore, macroing and the likes is strictly prohibited. If you want to be 100% safe: please just use one key for input. If you want to try something unique out for yourself: don't hesitate to ask staff if your play method is allowed.
- Please be kind to other players and members of staff; referees have the ability to issue punishments to players or teams based on the severity of rudeness/disruptiveness.
- The registration form can be found above, on the Main Sheet, and also in our Discord server.
- Participants are required to both 1) complete the form, and 2) be a member of our Discord server (link on the Main Sheet). If the registration form is filled out and the user is not present in the Discord server when the Registration Phase concludes: they will automatically be withdrawn from the registrant list.
- In cases where a registration for a full team has been completed: Player 1 will automatically be assigned the team captain (this may be changed). In all other cases: captaincy will be discussed by the team members once a team is constructed.
- It is possible for users whose profile flags differ to merge into a team. There is no limit to how many teams one flag may have (ie. A-team and B-team). If players are interested in this: please contact the tournament host to discuss.
- There are no restrictions for signing up: any rank, any mode, any country is allowed. Please note that osu! tournament staff hold the right to deny registrations based on rule-breaking history.
- The first weekend will be the Qualifiers. Team captains will nominate a day and time for their team to participate. All teams will then play through the Qualifiers mappool (in order), followed by a 5 minute break (players may opt to skip this), and then play through the Qualifiers mappool (in order) for a second time (teams may opt to skip playing certain maps again, or even the whole pool).
- The bracket stage (with the exception of the Round of 20) is Double Elimination.
- The winning condition for each stage is as follows:
>Qualifiers - achieve a seed within the top 20 teams. Seed is calculated as the average placement of a team's best combined score in all Qualifiers' maps.
>Round of 20 - First to 5 (best of 9)
>Round of 16 - First to 5 (best of 9)
>Quarterfinals - First to 6 (best of 11)
>Semifinals - First to 6 (best of 11)
>Finals - First to 7 (best of 13)
>Grand Finals - First to 7 (best of 13)
- A referee will create a multiplayer room approx 10 minutes in advance. Teams must gather during this period.
>Room settings are osu!mania, TeamVS, Win Condition: ScoreV2. Room name is "1KWC: Lobby #" for Qualifiers, and "1KWC: (Red Team) vs (Blue Team)" for every other round. - Teams will forfeit a match should they fail to gather at least 2 eligible players 10 minutes after the scheduled match time.
- Warmups are not permitted for this tournament.
- Bans have been removed for this tournament.
- The team captain must use "!roll" in #multiplayer. If the captain is unavailable: a member of that team must be nominated for the roll.
>The highest rolling team will have first pick of the pool. - If both teams are one point away from winning the match: the tiebreaker map will be played.
- There will be one mappool for each round.
- The maps used in this tournament are a mixture of beatmaps from the JOKE series of tournaments (JOKE, JOKE2, and JOKE3) and new beatmaps. The pools for each round will be revealed after the conclusion of all matches in the previous round.
- Mappools do not contain mod categories and are instead categorised by the following: Classic, Old, Fan, New, Tiebreaker.
- The size of the mappool will increase by 2 when the win condition calls for it (see Stage Instructions).
- Each stage will be held on a single weekend.
- Scheduling will be handled by the staff team; match times will be based on the local times of the participating team's region.
- To successfully complete a reschedule: an agreeance between the captains of the competing teams must be provided (excluding Qualifiers, where teams are free to pick a new lobby time).
- The deadline for rescheduling is every Wednesday, 23:59 UTC+0. The latest a match can be rescheduled to is Sunday, 19:00 UTC+0. Times earlier than Saturday, 00:00 UTC+0 are allowed, however they are subject to staff availability and may be rejected.
Finally, have fun and please take care of your peripherals.
