my 6k ass needs charts im learning 7k FUCKING HELL also i wanna use 2 thumbs off the bat because its easier. like SOMETIMES i actually hit notes with alternating thumbn but not always

edit: also how do i learn 7k fast? i am roughly 5 star level at 6k and able to S rank 14 difficulty in icerain 6k mappacks if you know what those are. i can do 3 star A ranks at 7k

dont worry 6k ill always love you more than 7k☺️☺️☺️ 7k is mid but it has lots of charts and will give me massive pp but dont worry 6k youre more fun

Two thumbs is not easier, just do 1 thumb. If you want two thumbs, play 8k or 10k.

Do whatever u did for 4k->6k. Its the same for 6k -> 7k.

Quick tip, don't be hyper-focused on the thumb while playing. It feels weird, and you'll probably play worse.

play 6k? dman thanks bro ill start 1 attempt A rankinf 1.9 star 6k charts again

more seriously, bro i think alternating thumbs is easier because ngl less density for thumb ngl i just want the pp and the patterns variety to get good at 6k🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶

I mean, best way to learn it is to put it into practice. That said, I feel like there's definitely not going to be middle-key minijacks at 2* and start of 3* (feel free to say I'm wrong about that), meaning you'd basically have to learn to do (if I am to reference std) the mania-equivalent of full-alt tapping rather than hybrid... with thumbs I guess.
All I can say is that if you want to make your own problems, expect needing to create your own solutions also. It does seem people do it judging from search results, but it simply isn't common, rarer than rare. It really is just up to preference, regardless of how many people say it's a hassle or you do it for style points or whatever. You figure out how to full-alt middle-key rice and LN is basically what I'm saying. And I think if you develop that skill early, then you're gonna wonder how people find the "normal way" easier, like how I learned alt-tapping when starting osu!std and, if I were still playing it, could never imagine single-tapping.
I will say, it's gonna require you to find (or create) a very middle-key based starter map, which if you do find let me in on it, as it is admittedly pretty stupid to create a map that prioritizes one lane over every other lane throughout the whole song (unless someone wishes to prove me wrong on that point).

unlike full alt in standard, thumb-alt in odd-key mania doesn't really have any benefits since there are effectively no maps made with it in mind, and in general, maps tend to avoid having an excessive amount of jacks in the middle anyway. besides, with 7k placing a much larger emphasis on reading over physicality than lower keycounts, any speed benefits would likely be outweighed by how much harder it would be to read. compare that with full alt in standard, where physicality is a huge part of tapping, and there being only one "lane," the physical benefits far outweigh the relatively small reading difficulty increase.

after a certain point in 7k, once you become comfortable with the controls, the thumb just feels like any other finger, so trying to learn thumb-alt is giving yourself extra work for pretty much no benefit.

ok ppl really seem to not be a fan of 2 thumbs or atleast not reccomend it. im still gonna do it because patterns will be less akward with 2 thumbs and also because i dont like the idea of assymetrical inputs

edit: nvm i found out 7k sucks either way lmao

i feel like theres a higher chance of me trying to learn how to talk to people than learning 7k ngl. i know its because asymetrical inputs because i actually put an attempt in on learning 8k amd quit bevause 8k was too much for me, so its not like im sad im bad at 7k that makes me quit 7k
