This suggestion was closed for being a duplicate of the clan idea as a whole so will open a new one

Team wars would be 2-day weekend events where your team has to battle against a random enemy team.

The enemy teams are determined by a team ELO system, where your team will have to face another team with similar ELO. Enemy teams must also have the same amount of players participating in it as your team.

Team Wars work in the following way: On Saturday, players have to make war preparations. They will have to choose any ranked beatmap they want and then set a score on that map. Very important: you can only set one score. There are no second chances. The enemy plays are hidden from all other players until day two. You may choose to add some mods for your play, but not all mods are allowed (memorization, gimmick etc)

On Sunday, the enemy maps are revealed, and players will have 24h to try and get a score on any enemy map. Users may practive that map for however long they want, but they'll have only one chance to set a final score. If they beat the enemy accuracy, your team gets one point. If you fail, your team gets nothing. In case of a tie, your team wins (to prevent bad players fron SSing easy maps and forcing a draw). The attacker must use the mods that the enemy used (but they may swap DT for NC and HT for DC and vice-versa, aswell as traceable and hidden)

In order to prevent repetitiveness, players cannot pick the same map in war for a year.

Team names are hidden until day two to prevent players from choosing maps with skillsets that the enemy sucks at.

The team with the most points wins the war and gets ELO points. The losing team loses ELO. In case of a tie, the team with the highest total accuracy (all team member accuracy combined) wins.

Team leaders will have to choose one of 6 modes that they want their team to be: standard PC, standard mobile, Mania 4K, Mania 7k, Taiko or Catch

If they really don't want to hide it, they could add Team War Leagues where you have a battle every day for a week.

My suggestion is that the overall battle duration and mode should be consistent with the clash in Asphalt:Unite, because not everyone has the time to participate in the battle.

My idea is to change the overall mode to:
1. Warm-up phase - the team captain confirms the registration at this time, and players who enter after registration cannot join this game. In addition, the map selection and mode selection are also in this phase
2. Defense phase - both players have unlimited practice times in the selected map pool, but only three chances to make a score in the selected song.
3. Attack phase - both players will try their best to get the best score to defeat each other.

--It is worth noting that what I outlined here is a simplified version. In fact, the entire competition process is about 15-20 days. However, since the level of each player is different, how to balance it in practice is a very difficult problem.
--In osu!mania, the difference in players' skills can be very huge, and simply assigning an ELO rating based on the BP list may have disastrous consequences.
--This is a great idea, but it will take a lot of time and effort to make it a reality.

There really is no better alternative to ELO that I can think of. Using PP would be even worse as it would promote deranking and make matches for farmers basically impossible.

There's also 4K and 7K in mania, aswell as mouse/tablet and touchscreen on standard, splitting the community further and causing more issues.

I think that the only way to do it is to use PP to get an initial rank and then hope that teams balance after several months.

Also: 3 scores would probably not be a good idea for osu!. Defenders already have an advantage due to the fact that they can pick a beatmap with skills that they are good at, while attackers may have to attack a map with skills that they are not so good at.

Yeah, but I'm not sure if unlimited attacks would be a good idea. Giving players unlimited attacks will result in people trying to beat a score for hours and will disadvantage people who can't.

To be fair, players could have multiple days to attack the score, but I'm not sure what would be better either.
