Problem details:

My beatmap: beatmapsets/2301867#mania/4919548 can't be loaded. It says the beatmap file is corrupt or incomplete. If I look in 7zip it shows there's a file called "?3r, 6arelyhuman, prz - toxic (unarei) [blood so toxic].osu" and in windows explorer there's just nothing. How do I fix this and get it to upload properly?

I mapped it on osu!lazer and there's no direct publish function there yet so I had to export as osz and import in osu stable to upload from there. It shows up fine and can be played when I import it, but the version that gets uploaded is messed up.

Video or screenshot showing the problem:

osu! version: Stable 20241231.2 (latest)

Can you change the romanised artist in metadata to d3r, 6arelyhuman, proz (without the ö) and see if things improve?

I downloaded the uploaded version, edited it in 7zip to fix the filename of the .osu file and then edited the .osu file to set Artist to the version without unicode, imported that and reuploaded. That seems to have fixed it

Strange that in lazer the Romanized Artist field is set automatically and is not editable and includes the ö character

The romanised boxes in lazer accept a wider range of characters than stable's actually did because people asked for extended latin diacritics to be supported in romanised metadata and we didn't see any reason not to do it at the time. Now that we know that this can be an issue with stable we will likely roll that change back and only allow strict ASCII range again.
